i finally get to tweak my fan speed setting and keep it maintain at the desire clock. XD

I follow this instruction of tweaking the fan speed without playing with the 'blue-wire' brows.gif

yes, it's a stock cooler fan from Gigabyte HD4850. (3 years warranty) rclxm9.gif

i set the fan speed at 60%. a bit noisy. so i reduce to 55%. sounds pretty quiet.

i've tried 100%, it sounds like my HD4850 cooler is gonna explode anytime. haha

Added on August 18, 2008, 12:29 pmI've found a better software than CCC

It's call ATI tools tray. It's much more sophiscated and more tweaks can be done.

the better is using atiflash in dos mode.low risky than using in windows or if it's doesn't boot in display.boot using onboard vga or pci vga and return flash using atiflash command follow by ur id card in dos
*
better in windows env because if u messed it up u can always reflash it back wink.gif

anyone tried flashing with sapphire toxic one?

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 14 2008, 07:06 PM)
y u download clock ur GPU clock to 600?
*
That's Ati Powerplay in action.. If the card is idle, the clock speed will be throttled down, or in other words 2D mode.

This is my final result of OC with Ati Tools Tray.

Stress GPU for 45 minutes sharp. No ARTIFACTS detected during the stressing period.

OC at GPU/MEM : 700/1125 with voltage of 1.120 thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Hope this would be able to share my OC result with others. whistling.gif

No screenies of the stressing period ?

Me myself managed to get 725/1120 stable with 1.2v bios soft voltmod.

Stress test done with AtiTool 0.27 and artifacts detected process were put at very sensitive scanning.

Im using watercooling on it brows.gif 4870 is just overkill with the DDR5 unless u have too much money to spend.

Yea, at first i can only do 1050 on the mem, slowly i burn in them and increase it slowly with folding.

I use AMD GPU Clock Tool to change the clocks after i reached the 700mhz limit on the core, mem i use Ati's own overdrive.

Guys, want ask ar, when i'm doing artifact scanning, I can hear my PSu making some weird noise.. like whistling or whinning? What does it mean? PSU overloaded? I'm using this huntkey 550w (ya i know.. not a branded or whatsoever). and running a gainward 4850 golden sample.

the sound only comes when I start the artifact scanning, happens in both ati tray tool and ati tool.

From GC? err, I'm new to overclocking.. and my card is factory overclocked.. so this is normal? or abnormal? though it sounded like it was coming from the psu instead... hmm...
