I think Mazda6 is probably the best looking Japanese Sedan out there. The 2.5L version offers more bang for the buck than the Accord or the Camry.
I can only think of 3 drawbacks to this car.
- There aren't many Mazda service centers around so this could be a hassle - Spare parts are expensive - Resale value maybe lower than average

Actually I take back what I say about the resale value of the car. A quick research shows that the M6's resale value is only about 5% to 15% less than that of a 2nd hand Accord or Camry. Note that 15% is already considered unlikely and extreme.
Now for those that complain about sound insulation problems, I highly recommend foaming your car or at least insulate the car with sound proofing mats. It will make a world of difference and won't void your warranty. It made a world of difference to my old vios, and it is making a world of difference to my new Corolla.
Tinting - this is an expensive car, why settle for anything less than the best? Either go for Llumar or Vkool Elite 70. I hear 3M is a good alternative too.

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Aug 6 2008, 08:55 PM) Just a friendly warning. Don't go for Vkool. I regretted, but it's not my decision. My Vkool started to peel off, sadly. A new car with bad tint. Go for better tint, like Llumar, as suggested by you. More worth it. Could it be the workmanship instead of the tint? There's no excuses for poor workmanship - for the amount of money you pay, it should be problem free. I would definitely blast them to hell if I had the same problems. Luckily, my brother's Camry and my Corolla have not had any problems with vkool. I suggest VPS security film as well. It looks like a decent tint as I've always seen it featured in Hypertune.

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Aug 6 2008, 09:04 PM) I don't mean to create trouble in here, so just speaking out my experience with Vkool so far. My dad's car, which tinted 5 years ago, have a big problem since 2 years ago. The outer part of the film has changed colour. The colour is similar to petrol on tarred roads. And my car, not even 1 week after tinting already peeled off a bit. Grr... Really cannot stand of the quality anymore. Very sorry to hear about your bad experience, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't use vkool either and make a huge noise in the papers or magazine.

QUOTE(genkis3 @ Aug 6 2008, 11:53 PM) im using vkool and yes, it peel off after 3yrs+. but i think it can be claim warranty within 5yrs. im just to lazy to claim it. zweimmk, im interesting abt security film, mind to share more info regarding VPS? does it comes with IR,UV,heat rejection? the alternative i know is Llumar but can't find the heat rejection info. any other suggestion? if not, i'll get back the vkool security film coz the heat rejection is high. and guess im already change car within the 5yrs warranty period. Llumar recently launched 2 types of high end tints The Palladium 9 security tint TSER: 63% VLT: 75% UVR: 99% Air blue window film (featured in Hypertune) TSER: Unknown UVR: 99% VLT: 78% http://www.llumarmalaysia.netYou can find out more information about VPS tints here http://www.vpsauto.com/welcome.htmBoth brands carry warranty well over 5 years. The choice is up to your budget and brand preference.

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Aug 7 2008, 12:20 AM) If I'm not mistaken, that Caldina in Hypertune got broken in fix Palladium 9 after that incident, right? Surely is expensive, man. I suspect Llumar won't be cheap. But it'll probably be worth the money since my SA told me Toyota uses Llumar as their solar&security tinting. As a matter of personal choice, I would also go with Llumar.

I've seen a number of Singapore cars use 3M films, it must be pretty good if a large number of Singaporeans use them.

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Aug 7 2008, 04:01 PM) So assuming RM 2.4k for the Mazda6, it's still cheaper than the V-Kool option? Added on August 7, 2008, 4:03 pmAny idea on the performance with Smartag with Llumar, Vkool and 3M for the front screen? I think it depends on light or it could be the glass. I have no problems with my tint at all and I actually have 2 layers - One is the default Toyota tint and on top of it is vkool 70. I think 3M works ok as well, see a lot of singapore cars have an ICU installed for their toll gantries.

QUOTE(genkis3 @ Aug 12 2008, 06:28 PM) guys, wanna ask abt loan interest. i've already apply last month when it was 2.80%, but when my car arrive, interest rate increase to 3.00%, which interest rate will i get from bank? I've been told that the bank can only hold your interest rate that they agreed on for one month. If you haven't signed the agreement letter within the stipulated timeframe then the interest rate will increase. Check around the forums, I think the rates are now at 3.8% or so. If you can get it at 3.0%, it's very good.

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Aug 12 2008, 08:57 PM) Technically, what you say is true. But in the real world, everything can be discussed. I have not gotten my car yet but Bermaz will make sure that the bank honours the 2.3% interest rate which is the rate when my loan was approved. Well, have you signed the loan agreement yet? If you have, then it stays 2.3%, If you haven't then you better check with your SA.

QUOTE(Travies @ Oct 16 2008, 12:32 AM) naza and bermaz selling price of M6 got different?? Added on October 16, 2008, 12:36 amyo bro, congrats on ur new car... snap some pic and share with us here ler... pearl white and sliver is gorgeous, personally i think black is too normal for mazda 6. Bermaz is official distributor, Naza I think parallel import. Don't bother with Naza coz warranty will be an issue. Anyways, I think like the Merc SLK, black doesn't quite bring out the lines and contours for the Mazda 6.

It's been awhile since I visited this thread - I have to say, there's actually a bunch of Mazda 6 on the road, more so than the previous generation so that's good news.
Unfortunately it still hasn't hit mainstream popularity like the Camry or the Accord and the PUG 407 being so competitively priced offers another challenge.
