Greetings cooling pro and overclockers..

I am getting a new rig but i am not very sure with the cooling stuff so i decided to create this thread..

BUDGET IS 1300 including casing.. Casing preferable a mid casing lian li..

Before i start this I would like to ask a question first..

1) will i void my gc warranty if i replace with third party cooler?
2) will i void my processor and proc. heat sink warranty if thermal paste n lapping is used on them.
My estimate spec .

1) Q6600 overclock - 3.0 GHZ .. if can?
2) not sure .. preferably a gigabye 550 dolar model.. forgot name.
3) 4870 - ati mini oven don't feel good overclocking it..


No wc pls ... Pls recommend stuff which is available in lowyat..

Pls include the folowing item in ur recommendation

1) NB heat sink
2) processor hs (if lapping is voiding the warranty ... pls choose hs which are nicely cut by machine ) ..... n pls don't block the damn ram slot.. going 4 gb
3) casing
4) FAn adjust according casing..
5) Graphc card third party heat sink only if warranty is not voided..
6) thermal paste if warranty is not voided ^.^
7) capacitor heat sink
Warning: If my rig burn i will kill u ... (jk )

to moderators: I know i got a request for recommendation thread in another forum.. But it seems all the cooling pros are in here ... i don't get the answers i want in there..

you're getting all these things that you've mentioned at 1300?!?
what currency are you referring to?!? sterling pound?

if it's in ringgit.. i doubt you know all those parts you're talking about.

however, if you're just referring to cooling peripherals.. at such a budget.. you can try water cooling.
you can try those all-in-one kit, such as those from thermaltake for example.. simple and easy to install.

i don't dare to wc.... unless there is a pro fix it for me.. The leaking problem fears me alot... wc sumore no warranty swt...

2) processor hs Thermalright IFX14(RM300) + 3x120mm Fan(FM123 is good but x3=RM180)
3) casing Lian Li PC7A(Your taste may vary but cost RM280 or so)
4) FAn adjust according casing..
5) GC third party only if warranty is not voided..Which GC?
6) thermal paste if warranty is not voided ^.^Use Tuniq TX2,RM19 at robyncom imbi

... i wonder whether ifx heat sink will block my ram slot?

EVGA does not void warranty, its covered in their warranty


nope, and depends on the layout and the position of the fan

if i get ifx i will be putting a fan betwween the two towers..

HR05 is freaKING BIG.. will it block others part like the ram slots or any parts..?
