i've also played DCUO US server but since couple of months ago my connection to any SOE games' server in NA give really high ping.
trace route my connection and the result was my connection bounces to EU first before going to US.
and this happen only to SOE games. other games by other company dont have this kinda problem to me.

I see, then I'll just download the SEA client and register in case I will not be able to play in US server with a smooth connection anymore.

So what is the population like for this game on SEA servers? Any trouble finding companions? Any side that has particularly more players? I just finished downloading the client and will try out soon.

Heroes horribly outnumbered Villains. Currently, most event that involves faction war are being won by heroes.

As for total population, I doubt the server has even 25 players at the same time.

Once you have collected the whole set of items, you will be rewarded with a nice equipment which will greatly increase your characters (unless you completed the collection at a later stage where you have past the item requirement level)
