Well, so much for the $199 hype back then. Somehow, I just knew it couldn't be true. tongue.gif At least us iPhone 1G users may now sleep in peace knowing that our year-long investment would not have gone to waste, hehe. Also, I'd like to add that the whole $199 thing wasn't AT ALL true when Steve Jobs announced it during the WWDC. Sure, they didn't mention that you'd have to be a current iPhone user, and it's acceptable that that pricing is only available to current AT&T users. But hey, not even all legit AT&T + iPhone users will be "upgrade eligible" for that pricing. I'd be real pissed now if I were on AT&T and was told that I need to fork out $299 instead even though I stuck to all the legitimate AT&T plans... vmad.gif

Hey again, mate. Glad to be back for a while. Not always in the 'mood' nor right time to type constructive posts. tongue.gif Will try to hang around whenever possible. smile.gif

P.S. Marketing strategy? Well, maybe, but that's taking things a little too far. I mean, it's like a grey lie, not black, DEFINITELY not white laugh.gif Ahh, for all I care, I'm gonna be sticking to me dearest iPhone 1G anyways.

Well what can the consumer do. As long as there is demand they are in control. Actually Apple did not mislead anyone just that they did not elaborate more on it that time. They just said USD199* where *Term & Conditions apply.

Same scenario can be seen locally ... with AirAsia. In the early days they really caters for the people who can't fly MAS but now when they are in demand, they even charge the luggage to be checked-in, charge you if want to be the first in line (mcm naik bas mini pulak), and mislead people about the cheap ticket. After this dunno what more they want to charge. Sometimes its more expensive to travel with AirAsia than MAS.

Sorry for the OT

p/s - To anyone working for AirAsia reading this, hope don't take it personally. Its just my personal thought.

Maybe for the lulz?
hehehe..
Non sim basis usually done by verizon. I won't deny the possibility of non sim for iPhone 3g but I don't see that from at&t or even hk..
