QUOTE(spidergirl @ Aug 2 2008, 06:44 PM) I got it when I was in kindergarten. Its either me or my sis who brought it from school. The whole family was infected with ringworm as a matter of fact, haha! whoa~ reli boiled all clothes at home? And yes, like you, I used cream too. It was gone after a few weeks. My ringworm looks like a red patch and small dotty outline on the outer circle. Like a ring of worm! QUOTE(abang brother @ Aug 2 2008, 07:20 PM) My ringworm is healing eventhough i keep scratching and not putting some cream. yea, actually it does get cure by itself but nid times, even sometimes it might get more severe. What cream you guys use? I'm using Dezor, lost it. i will take ketoconazole tablets n apply cream/ointment issued by a doc frm clinic tat i used to go or lamisil sometimes. QUOTE(spidergirl @ Aug 2 2008, 07:29 PM) whoa... 14 years ago! i wish i will get rid of it forever (at least w/o it for 14 years like u). btw, by tat time u got ringworm, did it keep come back? if yes, how long only it gone totally? I guess the reason why my aunt boil my clothes at home cos its a somewhat a fungal disease. Its not a necessity to boil clothes to get rid of the disease. Are u sure what ur having all this while is ringworm? |

QUOTE(silentz @ Aug 3 2008, 12:28 AM) according to my symptons on da dot/patch n pharmacist, it is ringworm. Hmm, let me sum up for you what I've read so far. Ringworm can last for quite awhile if you stop the on going treatment. Treatment takes 2-4 weeks to eliminate the fungus. You should continue treatment until all of the ringworm is gone. If you stop too early it will come back, and may be harder to get rid of. Could it be that you stop too early? If you're still having ringworm on and off, I'm guessing that either you stop the treatment half way or you haven't treat the whole household (that inc. the cats that you have). How many cats you have? One of your cats could be the carrier (even if she/he didn't show any ringworm sign on the body). Make sure the infected person or animal that was the source of infection gets treated If you have time, maybe you might wanna try to consult your doc (and vet) again. Antibiotics and prescription like ketoconazole (like the one you're using) are recommended for the treatment, so is over-the-counter products like spray, lotion and cream. Hmm, kesian you. I know how it feels actually. I think for you treating is fine, its just avoiding re-infection is your prob at the moment. Be patience, maybe with the right move, you might be able to get rid of the infection. I'd say internet can be an effortless searching tool to search about skin symptoms and info. I'm having some sorta skin disorder, and what do you know, they have a forum for that, lol! Its amazing! Haha! Good luck and hang in there okay? Just glad to help what I can |

Anyway, I wanna share something about Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, please ensure that your cats are free from this disease.
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease is a range of problems that result in a cat's urethra (the tube which transfers urine) are blocked by crystals, mucus and fibrin, making it painful, difficult or IMPOSSIBLE to urinate. This disease can be caused by stress, incorrect diet, neurological problems, infections, dehydration and other health problems. They can also be the result of not cleaning the litter box often. As cats are very fastidious, they will try to "hold on" (tahan kencing) rather than squating in a dirty litter box. This encourages bladder problems. In the past, formulated cat biscuits and cat food that were high in minerals like magnesium and pH were also blamed. But today, premium cat food manufacturers are aware of the link, and have adjusted their products. One very early symptom of this disease is that your cat will try to do his "business" outside of his litter box. This isn't an act of naughtiness or agression. The cat simply thinks that the litter box is to be blame for the pain caused when he tries to urinate. The poor cat tries to avoid the pain by avoiding the litter box. Other symptoms include crying when using the litter box, depression, lack of appetite, vomiting and lethargy. You may also feel a certain resistance or swelling in the tummy region as the bladder is too full but unable to empty. Male cats have a longer, narrower urethra which causes them to be more susceptible to such disease than female cats. A blocked urethra causes toxins to accumulate in the bloodstream, damage the kidney and kill the cat within a day or two. If your cat tries to do his "business" outside of the litter box, and it's not because the litter box is too messy or dirty to be used, play safe and take your cat to the vet immediately for checkup. Anything that you don't understand about the above disease, feel free to ask me or you can search the web for more info. Thanks and have a nice day! |
