Yeah, she brought it to the vet.Vet said that the cat was too stressed about the change in environment. {my friend moved form a house to an apartment}. Sigh. I'm still ready for cats though, I did LOTS of research. I might probably go to SPCA or PAWS to adopt one. Will post LOTS of pictures if I do.

yes, changing environment can be the cause as well... because they are territory type, when you change a place to a new one without her knowledge, sure she become moody, angry, etc because that new house doesn't seem to have her smell at all (errkk cat scrub them self on the wall to make it smell like them tongue.gif)

some more she is pregnant, she maybe already spot a beautiful and suitable place for her to labor in the old house, but suddenly move to a new house, she get stress because cannot find that spot anymore and now have to make a new place. she will be like this = vmad.gif

ehehheh

this changing of mood (stress) can easily effect mommy.

u need to bring to the vet and check the skin and fur condition. it can be food sensitive, types of food, on heat, or the worst one is fleas/tick/lice/mites war attack... this small creatures can do bad things on your cat, some cat even die if they are too much on the body....

or your cat may have sensitive skin which get from food or grooming. some shampoo may bring chemical reaction towards you cat skin.

anyway, only vet can check the skin condition and tell you what actually make the fur falls smile.gif

Elf,

I need your opinion.

My baby cat (3 months+) also has the same problem last 2 weeks. The fur on the side of the ears falling coz of ear-mite. The vet gave him some medication (liquid type).

Now ear-mite problem solved. However, the fur on the whole body are falling now.

Will there be a period of time where the fur of a kitten will drop/change? Is this normal?

normally they will change fur from kitten to adult.. but yours is too early.. 3 months is like still waiting for 9 more months to become adult. its too early for them to change fur now. so there must be something else.

what kind of fur on the whole body falling? is it like become BOTAK, of just fur fall?

what food u giving your kitten? what brand?

did u continue giving the ear mites drops (into ears)?

did the vet check their fur? normally my vet, if they see mites, they will check my cat skin + microscope their fur to check if there is army such as fleas, tick, ringworm, lice, etc.

Just fur fall, i guess. He's not botak yet, luckily.

IAMS, Royal Canin, Premium Can Food

did u continue giving the ear mites drops (into ears)?
Stop after 7 days, as told by vet.

Yea, the vet did the same.

you feeding 2 brands at one time? try to feed only Royal Canin... and stop iams... (if u can afford RC lah smile.gif)

if vet already check the skin, and didnt found any of that fleas/tick/lice/ringworm...

then try to do research on food...

food can give hard time for fur aswell... some people complaining that iams make their cat fur fall.. so u try to change to RC 100%.. and wait 2-3 months to see the progress...

another thing, try give supplement for cat coat and fur smile.gif ask your vet what is the best supplement.

that tesco brand is not enough nutrition for cats. basically with that food, yes you will cat fur falling down and dry. it won't make your cat fur shiny.

shampoo for lice? you can use fleas shampoo.. and you can use Frontline aswell (ask your vet). Sometimes they inject something to the body to kill all insect biting the cats.

nope it does not cost much to check on skin condition. thumbup.gif

If you have tight budget and many cats, the best i can recommend is PROFORMANCE.

If you do not have budget problem, with many cats, i recon Royal Canin.

If you do not have budget problem, with very less cats in the house, go for Super premium cat food such as Orijen, Innova Evo.

litter.. hmm the best but expensive is OKO Plus (suitable if u have less cats). If you have many cats, clay type is the best because its cheaper.. i use fussie cat litter with lemon smell.

Hmm, my budget is somewhere around RM150. Is it possible to get a 2 month supply of Orijen and OKO plus with that amount of money. Dog and Chinchilla food only costs me about RM 100 but lasts for quite a long time. Just asking. FYI I plan on having ONE cat. Hopefully I can find a Tortie and white or a calico kitten at SPCA. I loves their colours

Hi guys
Ive a quick question here

My friend has 2 kittens up for adoption and she's lettin me have one but im just so torn between both of them. Dilemmas dilemmas..sigh
Im listing down some points so u guys can give me a clearer picture or some sort..i hope.

Kitten 1 is pretty with evenly toned colours, shy, less active but cuddles comfortably with u when held near.

Kitten 2 is pretty but not so evenly toned, the eye is alil juling, active and naughty, runs away when cuddled thou (cant sit still with u)

My concern is, does all cats will eventually get more cuddly with you once they grow up? Im afraid of some cats that will act posh and bossy once they grow up. I want a cat thats very "sticky" to the owner.

I kinda bonded with Kitten 1 and lovin it..untill Kitten 2 started to get comfortable and started playin with my toes and lickin them which makes me thinkin twice about her (yes i love animals that licks i dont know why). Yet she wouldnt let me held her long enuf or sit down quietly..lol
Kitten 1 is just so quiet im afraid she would turn snoobish when older..u guys know what im meanin right? lol

Also, does the mata juling gets more obvious and ugly when it grew older? it does look cute now as its young, but which animal doenst when they are all small n fluffy rite laugh.gif

Hope u guys can give me some pointer and comments about my situation please.
