QUOTE
HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) promises to control components that are connected via HDMI cables with just one remote. Turning components off and on and one-touch play and record are some of the first features enabled on these initial HDMI CEC home theater offerings. But they often prove to be not so easy. You must set up the HDMI CEC in each component’s menu, and controlling the components can be inconsistent. Plus, each brand has its own nomenclature for menu and action items. But perhaps being forewarned will enable you to be forearmed.

All my HDMI connected devices are working flawlessly (BDP and WDTV)
only those non-HDMI connected devices have problems (DVDP - Components, Astro - S-video, CDP - Analogue RCA)
Is it because I'm using HDMI out causing the non-HDMI connected devices to have problems?

Nope, that will not cause your problem. I also using 2 HDMI player (DVD and WDTV).

How your AVR change the input? Got dedicated button for each input or only 1 button will switch one by one. There a lots of different setting between those 2 methods.

Some modern (i mean newest) AVR will have input signal autodetect, that might cause the problem. Say like you watching on WDTV, then someone switch on the BD, the AVR will autoswitch to BD input.

My suggestion is to customise the remote and let AVR be the last to be ON so any device ON will not cause the AVR to autoswitch (if yours have this function).

ps;- all 3 AVR I have belong to classic categories. sweat.gif

Set a delay for Astro... need to go to advance setting. Astro decoder response is slow even using the original remote.

bro, you cannot do anything on astro decoder.

You must do on the remote.
