580-600kb/s.. uh.. Nope its a pretty stupid package if you ask me but I need it due to the nature of my job, other than using it with servers in Asia, everything else is pretty much throttled (BT, P2P, RS, etc.).

At exactly 11.00am today, my speed without freegate capped to 25KB/s again. 1 thread download = 25kb/s, 4 thread download = 25kb/s, 10 threads also same.

QUOTE(rickysay @ Aug 8 2008, 04:19 PM) It should, works for me at least. I've tested it on Win XP and Linux.. runs fine on Ubuntu in WINE (but you need to copy out the MFC42.dll from a Win XP install to get it working, the WINE one is outdated).Just get it, run it and in your download manager, set the IP (127.0.0.1) and port (8580+ default) in your download managers HTTP proxy settings to get it running. |

QUOTE(Chyan @ Aug 9 2008, 02:24 PM) dude... anyone from srwk residents.. I don't think being on a different IP range would make much of a difference. This isn't a routing problem but an imposed speed limit by TMnet in order to solve their network 'congestion' problem. It's more of an infrastructure problem seeing as I see them advertising 1mbit packages all over the place when I go out, yet they're too cheap to purchase additional bandwidth for the country. This is even pissing me off because my servers @ the TMnet datacenter are experiencing slow downs with western countries (20KB/s - 10 threads with the US) and my clients are somewhat dissatisfied.which i.p is speedier? 60. or 124. ? this week rapidshare is like pathetic! 20kb/s then 8kb/s then if ti's good 40-60+kb/s.. sheesh!! im like started to use flashget/DAP pro to get the speed up but with no avail. This started with P2P capping (BitTorrent) roughly 2 years ago and look how its turned out. Lowyat.net has an entire section dominated by services for bypassing their eMule, BT and general speed caps (services noticeboard). How long will it be till we start seeing Rapidshare/Megaupload/etc downloading services? Heck, I can't even download games from the PSN store at a decent speed anymore. Tmnet Shitmix. QUOTE(Chyan @ Aug 9 2008, 05:30 PM) I'm using downthemall, 4 chunks per file. I've tried Mass Downloader (with up to 100 threads) to no avail. Every file no matter how many threads is capped @ 25kb/s without using a proxy of sorts. I'm surprised at the level of packet inspection technology they've invested their money in to be honest. BitTorrent throttling, the capability to heuristically identify P2P traffic based on the structure of the connections + packet headers (encrypted or not), filetype and name specific throttling for RapidShare links? How much processing power do you need to identify all of these connections and shape them on a nationwide scale? Moreover, how much of our money did they spend to do this? I'm sure it costs less than laying more cables for bandwidth.Couple of hours ago, I tried to download the NVIDIA drivers from nvidia.com. A few months back, I noticed that the nvidia driver files were being hosted on a local server in Malaysia. Now, its overseas and I was getting 40KB/s with 10 threads.. That's about 6-8% of my total line speed. When I proxied the connection via an SSH tunnel however, the speed was 480-520KB/s with 2 threads. I'm sure they'll have some sort of amazing explanation for me when I call them up later. "You mesti type ipconfig /flushdns dulu, lepas tu baru ok. Nanti cuba speedometer." - TMnet hotline This post has been edited by rizvanrp: Aug 9 2008, 06:04 PM |
