i think torrent is much much slower than rs. Even when I use VPN. Plus torrents u depends on the seeds, unlike RS which are direct downloads

you guys using premium that need to pay?? dam annoying when using free user.. need to wait for 1 hours++ after download 1 movie around 900MB++.
*
you can reset your modem to download a new file without the wait.

For FREE users, here's a tutorial I wrote that you can use to download free rs by automatically resetting your modem when the download is finished. Great for downloading while you sleep smile.gif Its in BM tho. (im actually not sure if it works after the new IP change - but I think that effects the premium only).

Yeah, I'd have to say IDM is the best.
However the only gripe I have about IDM is that when opening websites that embed .mp3, IDM opens and ask whether to download the song or not.

You can set it to not automatically download mp3/wav/ etc

How much per month for 4Mb line?
How fast is the UPload speed?

Anyway, like you, I dun think my parents will allow that, as they think my current line
is more than enough already. Heck, I think now they won''t even let the PC run 24/7 due
to hike in electricity tariff  cry.gif

I just checked & found out that it's RM268 for 4Mb connection,
but for combo it's RM160? How come like dat one?

Owh, so can use IDM just to download but no resume capabilities?
So if stuck half way then how?
*
mayb the combo you're binded by a contract? I dunno.

No more captchas - higher flexibility for premium-users
July 02, 2008

By eliminating the captchas we simplified the use of RapidShare's free services significantly. In addition, free-users can now upload and download bigger files (up to 200 megabyte). Anyhow, to protect RapidShare from congestion caused by automated downloading, we limited the maximum download speed for free‐users to 500 kilobit per second. To compensate for that, they do not have to wait anymore until starting a succeeding download.

Premium-users now profit from more flexibility regarding the download volume: It used to be limited to 10 gigabyte per day and can be "saved" now to a maximum of 50 Gigabyte. As a consequence, the volume that was not used is transferred to the following day automatically, up to a maximum of 50 gigabyte. If the complete download capacity is used up during one day, the premium-user is able to save another 10 gigabyte the following day.

*
thanks aieti for the news.

Well this is how i understand it. Usually its like this

Day 1 = 10gb
Day 2 = 10gb
Day 3 = 10gb

So if you only download 5gb on day 1, you wasted your other 5gb. But with the new system, it can be brought forward to the next day. Eg:

Day 1 = 10 gb - Downloaded 5 gb = Extra 5gb
Day 2 = 10 gb + 5gb from Day 1 = 15gb - Downloaded 8gb = Extra 7gb
Day 3 = 10 gb + 7gb frm Day 2 = 17gb

so basically, if you didnt download for 4 days then on Day 5 you can download 50gb instantly

50gb for 5 days is better.

just queue up all your downloads in IDM and download away. But if it hits the 10gb limit then the downloads all become html files till the limit is reset
