I'm using downthemall, 4 chunks per file. I've tried Mass Downloader (with up to 100 threads) to no avail. Every file no matter how many threads is capped @ 25kb/s without using a proxy of sorts. I'm surprised at the level of packet inspection technology they've invested their money in to be honest. BitTorrent throttling, the capability to heuristically identify P2P traffic based on the structure of the connections + packet headers (encrypted or not), filetype and name specific throttling for RapidShare links? How much processing power do you need to identify all of these connections and shape them on a nationwide scale? Moreover, how much of our money did they spend to do this? I'm sure it costs less than laying more cables for bandwidth.
Couple of hours ago, I tried to download the NVIDIA drivers from nvidia.com. A few months back, I noticed that the nvidia driver files were being hosted on a local server in Malaysia. Now, its overseas and I was getting 40KB/s with 10 threads.. That's about 6-8% of my total line speed. When I proxied the connection via an SSH tunnel however, the speed was 480-520KB/s with 2 threads.
I'm sure they'll have some sort of amazing explanation for me when I call them up later.
"You mesti type ipconfig /flushdns dulu, lepas tu baru ok. Nanti cuba speedometer." - TMnet hotline
duh... even their explanation sucks.. =.=

Yeah it's downthemall.
Just keep increasing the chunks, it will get faster to a certain extent

Oh yeah.. but when i increase the chunks... it stops. LOL i set the settings to 10 chunks o.o. But when dl-ing its just 1/1 .

My current speed is pretty ok.
Just keep increasing chunks only.
Btw my fren just came back from US and he says the speed there is god-speed.
How fast ?
He can dl 1 episode of Anime in less than 5 mins
I can only dream ..............
There? hell yeah its like 300 - 5000kb/s.
