i think torrent is much much slower than rs. Even when I use VPN. Plus torrents u depends on the seeds, unlike RS which are direct downloads

Early 2007 I'm used to be free user of RS and when I start buying premium I know I made the right decision. Happy to be premium user.
And this premium account sort an addictive because I just need to buy premium every month. I dont' know why... |

My premium account expiring in less than 24hrs. Well if you are free user, you can always disconnect and reconnect your modem, provided that you have access to it. I'd love to spend RM20 buying a new one, but um I have no idea what to download already.
Currently at home, and the speed is liek shit (line screamyx 512 stendet lar bang). Last time downloading from RS.com 7MBps from universiti line. So heaven. |

What is the best IDM program to use with RS ? Using Orbit now, I always Q up a number of download links, but the download links will expire after a few hours. It will only download 10K, need to restart the link in order to continue downloading. Anyone facing this issue ? BTW, on the premium account. Thanks. |

IDM is useful to download files on RS. I'm always turn on my pc at night so all my dl queue will be finish by morning. I even check on the sound in order to get notified. RS+IDM = Cool!

The premium account xxxxxxx is already in use with another ip. It looks like this account is used on different computers at the same time. how to resolve it coz i'm not fully utilized using RS with my 384kbps package so that's why i'm sharing acc with my friend. well lately i found out if i download 1 file and the speed is really bad i tried download 4 of them and the speed is 50kbps each.
50kbps x 4 = 200kbps. well why dont u tried it then tell us. |

Usually its like this Day 1 = 10gb Day 2 = 10gb Day 3 = 10gb So if you only download 5gb on day 1, you wasted your other 5gb. But with the new system, it can be brought forward to the next day. Eg: Day 1 = 10 gb - Downloaded 5 gb = Extra 5gb Day 2 = 10 gb + 5gb from Day 1 = 15gb - Downloaded 8gb = Extra 7gb Day 3 = 10 gb + 7gb frm Day 2 = 17gb so basically, if you didnt download for 4 days then on Day 5 you can download 50gb instantly |

Hmm... I'm getting error from Rapidshare. Anyone facing the same thing ? I can't even load Rapidshare website (it loaded but show empty page) and I'm certain it's not my connection since I can access other site just fine. Every file from the server also returned 0 bytes. Never had this problem before.

Didn't know there was a thread like this. A few queries... Is there a limit to how much we can download with RS premium per day or per week? I was downloading at 400kbps yesterday and today....it fluctuates from 50-120kbps. Any inputs? EDIT: just read somewhere in another thread that 10GB per day? 1 year will cost bout 54.99 euro if buy from official site, after coversion nearly rm300 per month is 6.99 euro, after conversion is rm35 or so u can check the rates at www.rapidshare.com if buy from rs reseller in lowyat, they offer those tat acc they create from points FOC for bout 19-20 u can check it at garage sales |

50gb for 5 days is better.
just queue up all your downloads in IDM and download away. But if it hits the 10gb limit then the downloads all become html files till the limit is reset |

Anyone can pm me the links for Portable IDM latest version (5.14) that's quite dependable coz I heard some guy mentioned that's it not quite safe to use certain version of portable IDM with premium account coz some guy got his accout stolen when using it...not so sure about this though.. need portable version coz some pc in my Uni dun allow to install software like IDM.. rite now I'm just using portable IDM 5.09 beta and it served me well for the past 6 month |

The server you choose does affect your speed. However, for the internet connection here, I doubt it matters.
I think above 500KBps it will matter cause when I dl from cybercafe, some servers max out at 300-400KBps. |

I always set my server to random server, and no problem thus far.
More or less the same download speed, morning or night. Rapidshare is capable to choose the fastest server to give its users a consistent speed. |

and somemore i'm not staying at hostel or anything just go there for classes for bout 1-2 hours per day if stay there, i think 20 rapidshare accs also not enuff |

rules and regulation said u arent supposed to share ur acc actually so probably 1 of u have to do the downloading only all the time to avoid the hassle of asking each other to stop their download when the other want to use. |

I know it was Streamyx problem yesterday night coz I tried to re-set my modem a few times but the speed was equally slow.
But the speed is back to normal now yahoo !!! |

lol despite wat i said earlier regarding fast speed with my acc, seems like today's the first day i encounter slow speed on both my RS and Megaupload acc, speed wont go up more than 25kBps
this 1 is definitely TM's work already. |

There's a chance that Streamyx hasn't cap the speed for Rapidshare. I tried downloading linux image from France and the speed was so terrible, so, it might be related to international problem. Heck, last night I can't even get a proper ping reply from Google.

I just use as free user can get to top speed as i'm on 512 package from streamyx.
The thing happen behind are the ip we get from streamyx sometime lousy very slow like turtle. What i do is disconnect the moden and connect back to get a new ip. Some times i need to DC 5~6 times only can get full speed but mostly 1 time okay already. Maybe the third party server is busy or streamyx itself having lousy bandwidth. Just my experience using RS free user. |
