Wasn't there just a thread recently extolling the virtues of RS? :/
I was just beginning to like RS too since I found some really rare manuals on there though luckily for me the stuff I get off RS are small stuff. But yea, don't think it's worth it to get the RS Premium since the whole point of it was to dl loads...not to be stuck on downloading half a DVD worth of something especially with High Def stuff being all the rage. Just realized Rapidshare isn't the one being screwed up.
Something's wrong with the STREAMYX connection itself, explains why Rapidshare downloads are so freaking slow |

With the right IP range (which is hard to get), you still can max out on Rapidshare.Something's wrong with the STREAMYX connection itself, explains why Rapidshare downloads are so freaking slow Being a VPN provider I am affected too Some more TM denies that there is a problem, but I tell them, bbc.co.uk ping loss of 40-50% no problem? |

What's your definition of maxed-out ?
Prior to the last 2 days, I was getting 170-180 KB/s Now its like 10-20 KB/s |

QUOTE(Suk @ Oct 27 2008, 12:08 PM) someone told me, TMnut has been blocked Rapidshare. not sure true or not. There are so many things in your SIG... Which is which? Can't you tell straight? HeheBut u got an alternative which is, Unless u are using paid service. ( read my signature) or visit service noticeboard. I don't think Rapidshare has been blocked because my download speeds are shitty too. My usual speed test results normally yield 1500-1650 KB/s Past 2 days I have been getting 120-250 KB/s ONLY! |

As Xortz said, I can confirm that Rapidshare is NOT throttled.
Those reports of RS being throttled are just due to Streamyx's extremely bad routing lately to certain locations. Getting a VPN/Utorrent Webui/Torrent Flux service does NOT necessarily make you immune to such problems though it may alleviate it if right now routing to their servers is good. As I mentioned previously, we had to get servers in different datacentres to cater to different Streamyx IP ranges so if your provider just happens to be located in a datacentre which you have bad routing to and no alternate servers (not their fault), then you would be similarly screwed. Please refer to my guide which I posted on LYN on how to get a good Streamyx IP range and how to evaluate whether your IP is good or not (which varies from person to person): Finding the Right IP Range of your Streamyx Connection I think the main problem is the 2.66 gig limit per day which for heavy downloaders is insufficient. |
