hey guys my iphone suddenly cannot be detected by itunes but it can be detected by the computer ?any idea wat happen or how can i fix it ?

try restarting ur phone.

Did you update your software?

nope nvr did anything to it

with or without the xp/vista/mac os camera auto detection popping up?

is there any pop up error or just simply cannot detect by itunes?

i guess you need to download the latest itune and try again ..coz mine also having the same problem ... but after i re-install the itune and it back to normal again..

This happened to my Nano but I haven't had this problem with the iPhone. What I did was I disabled the iPod service from My Computer>rightclick>Manage>Services and Application>Services , plugged in my Nano and enabled it again and it worked. Not sure if it's the same for the iPhone.


After I reformatted my computer (not because of this problem, because PC's just need a clean sweep every now and then), the problem disappeared so I never found out what was actually wrong..

to TS, u might try the above suggestion as i found on the net have also similar way

IMHO, if its stated so clearly in black and white that you need to restore the iphone, i dont see any other alternatives.


the most that you can do is perhaps, backup your pictures, sms etc via iphonebrowser, shh etc.

there is ntg i can do yet ... pc gt problem haih...

but all my iphone apps and setting etc are working fine, juz the ipod cant sync...any method to just restore the ipod?

huh?? Restore once week? What application you use to jailbreak your iPhone? You either using a wrong jailbreak softwares or install some application that crash your system.

Waaa... your iphone is really sick... when you can restore iphone tru itunes, whats the problem then? cant sync at all lah but detected? maybe you have synced ur iphone to other pc initially... is it?

i restore because i installed too much apps, i like to try new apps inside the installer...end up with iphone laggy, so "restore"...

now used to it...need back up my photo, contact, music, wallpaper, movie etc...
