GAME CANCELLED!
Sorry guys for the bad news. My friend, the organizer from the other team has a member just passed away from a cancer. So their team will be attending the wake to be held at the same time. |

Hi guys, in the chance that this session may not take place due to a lack of attendees and/or rain - would you guys be interested in a futsal session instead? Just fill your names in the futsal thread and we'll get a session going.
Chances are much better to organize a futsal game at this time rather than football, especially since it rains a lot nowadays. |

QUOTE(Jonno @ Sep 7 2008, 01:29 AM) Mike, please pass on our condolences to them, and please ensure everyone has a black armband when we play them next, as a mark of respect for their team mate. If possible, please ask the referee to have a minute of silence in rememberance of him. I know it'll be an empty stadium, but as a mark of respect, it's something that we could do. Good suggestion - I could check with the other team on this first... we'll follow suit if they agree to it. Not sure how close they are to the deceased coz from my understanding their team is a hodge-podge of last min call-ups :-)On another note, sorry, had to work today, so was ignoring the friendly. Also, just signed to do a nationwide roadshow with Nokia, will be travelling heavily for the next 5 to 6 weeks. Scheduled to complete on the last week of October, please count me out for any games until then, thanks fellas. I'll update Mike when I'm back and available. Also, Mike, don't you think it's time you play for MyRAWK during the futsal games? I beleive Tony already began "contract negotiations" with you... As for the futsal - I've yet to hear any offers from your team. Only from what I read in the media but I want some black & white offers dammit! |

Yayyy... sexcellent!!! Looks like we've a complete team now.
Usual formation is 4-5-1, so depending on your positions, most of us will be taking turns substituting one another. Especially the upfield players! Eg faisal & vampireeffect will take turns playing; and all the midfielders too. IMPORTANT NOTICE
1. The game starts at 5pm sharp guys, not 4pm. But do come earlier for proper warm-ups so that nobody needs to go back with pulled muscles and such. 2. Opposition will wear blue, so we'll come in RED. Liverpool RED!!! |

Hey guys in order to avoid any confusion later this is the starting line-up. I've arranged it based on player positions and the order of confirmation.
Game will be played in 3 periods of 30 mins each. Due to the number of players, there will be 6-8 substitutions in the 2nd period. 3rd period we will make changes after 15 minutes so everybody will have about equal playing time. So play your best and run like hell, coz your total game time will average only about 45 mins. Gordon: Please take note of the DF, coz I'm officially appointing you as the defensive captain :-) So you decide who plays center, left, right, subs, etc. STARTING LINE-UP (4-5-1) 1. Jonno 2 (GK) 2. Jonno 3 (DF) 3. gordon (DF) 4. fauxhawk (DF) 5. miketee 4 (DF) 6. miketee 1 (MF) 7. miketee 2 (MF) 8. miketee 3 (MF) 9. zhunzhun (MF) 10. jonno 1 (MF) 11. vampireffect (A) 2ND PERIOD 12. TerryTang81 (MF) 13. boundaries (A) 14. Notoriez (DF) 15. Ponomariov (DF/A) 16. seed84 (DF) PENDING 17. Heikal (MF) 18. Faizal (A) Added on September 20, 2008, 3:29 pmOH BTW PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GAME IS MOVED TO 5PM NOT 4!!! This post has been edited by miketee: Sep 20 2008, 03:29 PM |

No worries man. We all understand the situation just now. It got a bit physical but that's football! FYI guys, Zhunzhun lashed out at the opposing player who fouled him, and the ref sent both of them into the sin-bin for 5 minutes :-)
The game wasn't pretty for us... we got trashed like 5-1...!!! 2-0 down in the first period where the game was played practically in our own half. 2nd period was the best, as our team pinned them back for long periods of game play. Scored one, conceded one. Third period was so-so and we conceded another 2 goals. No excuses with this game; they were clearly the better team and outplayed us in all areas of the field. |

I actually had a long chat with the keeper at the end of the session; we stayed back for almost an hour I think... it was a good learning experience as he's played for numerous clubs and has a lot of experience.
We spoke about how teams usually play and how coaches employ their tactics and even all the basics which we all lack and was crucially exposed during the game. Eg player positioning - a lot of us didn't know where to run or stand, and the whole team were running around like headless chickens. Wingers always closely with the right/left backs (watch the EPL games, eg Dossena-Riera and Arbeloa-Kuyt). How center-backs must command the line, etc. A whole load of stuff... footballing knowledge that is, that cannot be learned by just banging balls on the field but instead must be taught! |

QUOTE(Jonno @ Sep 21 2008, 06:25 PM) What do you think Mike? Fellas, what do you think? My suggestion is a fee of RM 50 each month and we'll get the friendlies arranged, say twice a month. The fee would cover things like pitch rental, referees, water during the game, and some other miscellaneous. I'm not exactly keen on the $ idea for the simple fact that we have a grand total of 5 committed players... everybody else only appears during friendlies! I think the chances of building a team for MyRAWK is much higher... at least MyRAWK is a proper setup with a committee team that can get things done over a long period of time. Things here are a bit too "loose" if you know what I mean; and I'm doing jacksh1t for the team!Shall we limit the team to say 16 players? What say you fellas? Shall we call the team MyRAWK? We are trying to start a football team for MyRAWK anyway, so why not just combine it? To take your idea just a step further... we can organize our weekly Sat games with players from both parties. That way we can slowly build up the numbers. Players who are in it seriously, or just casually, all are welcome. An "official" squad for friendlies can be selected based on the committed players that show up. Anyhow there will not be a game this Saturday as there's our LYN-MyRAWK futsal thing going on. We can get started with field games the following week. |
