QUOTE(UNDERGROUND @ Jun 27 2008, 09:55 PM) Good news ! I was able to touch Jilly just now, following Nezu's guide by disassembling everything in the cage which left an open area for my finger to approach her. she'll get to know you in several days or in a week maybe. She tried to run away at first but then i gave her a slice of apple, then i slowly stroke her back. After eating she went to sleep, curled up near the wall while im stroking her, then she was asleep already O_O I will repeat this tomorrow's night, hopefully she will get to know me the formula is patient.. dont force yourself. |

i think that info about syrian is a solitary creature has been debated for several times.
the conclusion is that syrian is solitary even it's lived with sibling or not. everybody can be a breeder anyway. |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jun 29 2008, 12:42 AM) Yes, anyone can be a breeder but not everyone can be a quality and dedicated breeder. A proper breeder would have the proper knowledge at the back of his or her hand. He or she would have read about the info on the internet, studied the nutrition, housing, done some experimental keeping and also done researched breeding. yup, agree with you.Anyone can be a breeder. I can ask my cousin who is 6 years old to keep 1 male and 1 female, and if they got babies, I can call him breeder as well..... alot of people make this mistake of trusting LYN sellers.... many are doing it for business, not a hobby. Only a few I see do it as a hobby and they give the best to their hamsters. that's why is hard to get proper information about hamster. coz someone who just mass breed the hamsters without proper knowledge mostly give false information to new hamster owner. sometimes information in the internet also can be misleading. if i want to trust any breeder, i'll trust Hun,Reanne, and Nezu. (why all good pet owners mostly girls?) |

huh?
your hamster escaped eh? btw, using hay as bedding only is not so good coz the absorbency is not very good. but if mix it with wood shaving bedding or breeder celect, it is ok i think. |

QUOTE(Hunz @ Jul 1 2008, 02:20 PM) I'm thinking of raising a hamster. you are in a situation like me.But currently studying someplace not in hometown. So if let say I raise at study place. Then when I wanna bring back hometown during semester break , would it be troublesome? anyone with such situation please advice. i'm currently studying in IPTA in gombak. but my hometown is in Terengganu which is 6-7 hours driving time. i have a syrian, and 2 gerbils with me. during vacation, i ask my friend who is not going back to his hometown to take care of pets. luckily we dont have long vacation. the longest vacation i have is around 2 weeks ++ only. i ask my friend to feed my pet, change the drinking water and change the bedding after a week. but my syrian wont get any fresh food during that time coz my friend cant go an buy vege everyday like me. coz we dont have fridge in our hostel to keep the vege fresh. lol i'm not sure if anyone is doing petboarding for small animal. |
