That cage ler... If you can tahan their chewing then ok lo. No doubt they will bite the bars. Robos are harder to train not to bite bars.

I always advise people to buy robos in pairs but if it's 1 male and 1 female I wanna ask you to rethink o. Most likely they're siblings or similarly related.  The babies that come out from sibling breeding is not nice wan.

The greyish ones are sables, not blacks. There is only 1 more true black in there and it looks like a rat. The prettier black I bought jor for my bf's younger brother.

My Roche is tame like button mushroom. But my Ferro is exactly like your ocha...

So ugly de hamster you want meh... Its feature really look like a rat! There is one really pretty sable banded inside. We were considering the black and that cute sable but since we were paying RM 25 for a black, we thought may as well get a true black banded. If you're going to buy a hamster that looks like a rat with a really short tail, go and get a fancy mouse la... So wasted.

Petshop ar... Same like how u tame every hamster lo. But they are not very easy to tame. Roche is a breeder's syrian. Ferro is a petshop syrian. Ocha was bought at the same place as Ferro. So from the trouble we both seem to be having, you prefer breeder bred or petshop bought?

but the shiny and curly part is really just the small patch behind the neck. The only other hamster that I see had curly hair was your satin o. His hamster le, curly where it looks satin-ish only.

Aiyah, that is possible for all long haired syrians.... not considered satin. No poor satins as poor satins are double satins.

Anyway, black is rare.... not rat unless you think that way. Sable is like cheap at most petshops and they are just cheating people to think sable is black.

Black got no cream eye ring, Sable has cream eye ring.

erm...sorry to pop up at this time...still a newbie learning to keep my robo well....i juz wonder if my robo suddenly scratch the water bowl (the mushrom water bowl fr habitrail) and continously kicking away all nearby bedding...does tat indicate anything? he also have very small squeking sound...i wonder if he feels ok? any ideas?

oic...i juz wonder if that gesture means anything coz i never see him do that...i thk its all right then...juz digging i thk my robo also toilet trained himself as i saw all his pee and poo in the small extension where i put the blueberry sand bath...however as the sandbath is blue in color...the more he stay on the extension, the tail also bcome a little blueish....i worry it tat affect him in anyway as well?

My Roche will. After she runs about an hour in the ball, if she managed to find my leg, she will try her best to follow me. She knows I give her mealies when I take her out of the ball. 

She will climb out of her cage and look around my palm for some food when I take her out. Always smoothie and mealies will be available.

My Ferro... Sigh... Climb up on my hand, ignore all mealies, smoothies, fruits, vege, etc etc. Most important is find the exercise ball so he can pretend to be a house f;y by bouncing off the walls.

As in taming?  Roche was already kinda tame when I brought her home. Se was bought from a breeder.

But I would say the same thing : Love = patience + sacrifice.

So if we love them we must be very patient when they don't respond and sacrifice the time we have for them.  Of course bribing helps a lot.

Hamsters who have a lot of contact with people tend to get use to human contact. Plus whenever they are having human contact, reinforcing the experience with food makes it more enjoyable for them. Not only is human contact safe, it is "profitable" for them in the sense that they can get more delicious food.

Just my personal tip, stroking them softly works. Try to mimick the short spurts of grooming just like the way mummy hammies do to their pups. Hamsters like that.

If you have the time you can try this method. Take out all the food from the hamster tank. When feeding time comes, put the food in the center of you palm and put your hand on the bedding. They will come. If not first day, 2nd or 3rd day also they will come. They will see your hand as a "source of food". Bonding can start later.

Robos are very timid so dont be disappointed they don't react quickly to you.

Mummy hamsters lic their babies... Hmmm... Kinda like mummy dogs cleaning their puppies?

haha... my ww dun like the bedding, he will only put the tissue inside the house... btw, my robos look so lonely coz i separate them, they eat a little only... but they should be alrite, rite?

haha... why never come to my home and have a look at them?????!!!!!

my female robo just give birth and the babies cant make it, if i put the male robo in same tank, should be pregnant again, so i separate for a while.. about 2 months, maybe?

GUYS, i saw 2 pure white syrian hamster. so tempting for me to buy. =.= but no place... and pure black also. only rm8 for one. buy more got discount some more... haiz... PURE WHITE RED EYES! =.=

not pet shop but wednesday pasar malam. =.= hahahha
normally my area here in bukit beruang melaka got pasar malam every wednesday.

i was told it isnt suitable to use cat litter as bathing sand because cat litter has a kinda chemical might be harmful to hamster.... but if u talking about paper based cat litter can la... if those coloured biji biji ones, better dont lor... jz go to the beach and get some beach sand back.... filter and baked it to kill all the bacteria...

i'm using filtered beach sand as litter tray lar.... didnt bake coz dun have oven....
anyway, i'm using separate tray for litter and bathing sand.... bathing sand i use chincilla sand... litter tray only use beach sand...
