hi, wish to change my pc very soon and mayb will get 1 4850 biggrin.gif
but i got some question to ask...
my psu is Acbel Intelligent Power Series 450W which bought 4 years ago. (Intel ATX 12V 2.0)
the psu included 1x 8Pin power connector and stated as Processor Power Connector.
there are no 6pin power connector for PCI-E.

Wonder i can use a 8 pin to 6 pin converter to power up a 4850?
if yes, where can i get the converter? today i go for lowyat and did not see something like this.

Hi, just get my new pc last saturday.
i'm using Gainward 4850.
Yesterday only finish setting up my OS.
This morning i wake up and install my 4850 driver with the CD come with package.
and the GPUZ show that my 4850 was in 71~74 temp. 1~5% fan speed.
i wonder using this fan speed can have this temp? btw, i'm in a air-cond room
for adjusting the fan speed issues, i've created a profile and edit the line
"manual" and "20" in the xml file.
then i go to overdrive and click activate my profile, but it seems like the fan speed still same, 1~5% speed =.=
what i've missing out there? someone help pls.

thanks~

rclxms.gif ytd install the 8.6 hotfix driver.
change the stock fan speed to 38%
idle temp is 50~53 in room temp.
nice drop from stock temp at 72~75.

Reinstalling didn't work initially. I had to manually install the driver using device manager. Then after that was working i could reinstall.

Anyone know why in the ATI Overdrive section the current clock settings do not change? They are stuck at

GPU: 500 MHZ Memory Clock: 750 MHZ

even though I've overclocked to 650 MHZ/1010 MHZ

same my situation.
power saving function? hmm.gif
