They dont make afterburners anymore. the last i checked the original site moved onto other things many many years ago. music i think.

Google GBA HALO LIGHT.

This was one other alternative that was not quite as painful to install, and MAY still be available...

mostly ebay

anyways, rm100 may get you a normal GBA from the garage sales here.

rm200 more likely if you want a GBA SP.

gameboy micro is good enough... Why not go for that? It has backlit... Most probably it will be hell cheap by now. I think that getting the old GBA version is a bad thing.

1st. Batteries... You still need to buy those Rechargables... Or else, those cheap china batteries won't help you either..
2nd. Non backlit... Modding it will be a bummer and you'll get dust inside the machine (sometimes will appear on the screen).
3rd. Heavy... The access bulk is really not good to me...

I have a Gameboy Micro with Supercard. Micro somehow has the metal feel and the paint wears off after much use... Dents and scratches will appear if used carelessly. The light can be adjusted but cannot be turned off. Audio is good. Battery life more or so 2 hours. Smaller screen, better sharpness.

Gameboy SP is a better option. Bigger display, Backlit (and frontlit... Not recommended...) Plastic. Battery use unsure, Hinge might be loose after long usage (4 year old anyway...).

I work with kids before... They bring their SPs to the daycare centre and I sometimes see most of them play it like a toy... Toss here, flip here, everyone gathering around and watch when playing... etc... It's impossible for them to cherish a gadget like that... So buy one that suits your nephew best.

*Whops...* tersalah address the person..
