They used to look like this:-

But now they look like this:-

These are the American PSN cards, to be used ONLY on US PSN, valued at USD20 and USD50. Works just like the Wii Points card or the Xbox Live cards, scratch and redeem.

I may be able to get some, so if anyone's interested, holler.

You might be able to get some? How come?
Where are they actually selling it in the states? 7-Eleven? Wallmart? K-Mart? Or game shops?

For some weird reason, these cards are only available to stores around the Great Lakes area.

I'm getting 2x50dollars cards myself. With Square Enix's recent commitment to PSN, I'm hoping they would expand their offering to include Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve or Vagrant Story. In the meantime, Xenogears and Einhander will be fine.

Purchase over the counter depends on the state tax on where these cards are located.

I'm still in the process of confirming these cards are still available at those stores im looking at. They fly off the shelves fast!

Great to hear you can find them in the states...even a few podcasts said they are hard to find...

Though I'm wondering why are you guys buying it if we can always use the AMBank NextG prepaid card to register and just debit it from the account like what a few of us is doing here...

If you guys like collecting the cards then I understand.

p/s: I've successfully registered and used the NexG card as three PSN stores (HK, SG and US)...so may you can give it a try.

p/p/s: Bro String, Mind bringing back me Rockband Bundle? The are selling it at cut throat prices here in MY... RM800++....

USD 169 + 8% Tax with 3.25 as FX is still less than RM600... smile.gif

Update on the PSN cards:-

Tax and my contact wants to make some money out of this venture, so I'm not sure if this is lucrative or viable anymore. For example, a USD20 PSN card now comes up to USD30+ if you want to get it from him. Transmission is via email so no shipping fee is accounted into that price, so you can do the math how much he wants to get out of this.

I will leave this thread as it is, should anyone is still interested after this disappointing news.

To the question of what is the purpose of this PSN card, some content on PSN are purchase-only. SO you need these cards to buy content. Otherwise, you can register in your credit card into the system, but there are reluctant parties in regard to submitting their sensitive data onto the ether.

Dude, may I recommend something?
Try AmBank NextG credit card (not sure if its a credit card or a debit card). And use that to create an account with Entropay. wink.gif

NextG is a Debit card...so anyone over 18 can use the card.....no need for min salary...only use what you deposit into the account

Why would you use it to create an entropay account? I used it directly and no middleman charge at all...

Now if only I can use it on Jap PSN...right now the card only works on US, SG and HK store for me.

The first time I tried, it got rejected so I called the bank....and the bank said they never got any confirmation from Sony....

I asked what info can they get from my card...They said , Name, card no, exp date and the three digit verification code at the back of the card.

They will not be able to get your address...

So I think the reason it wont work is due to invalid address keyed in..when they checked the country, city and the postcode....try to put in a valid address..I put in my Aunt's adress over in Texas...and it worked flawlessly...

3000Y for ~RM115 with paypal.

so far as i rmb, only 3 of u - lapaq, rx and aiman manage to buy from US store directly using MAL CC. others usually fail at address verification. not sure why. maybe they need to verify their name 100% (first name+last name confusion thingie)

Thanks for the item id no acougan

Yes usually it the name part that give them problems...whether to put bin or not...or first name and last name need to change or not since Chine surname is infront but english name at the back...

My advise, check with the bank how to write the name properly

HK psn card can use on SG psn or not? I don't have cc but applying one in SG. I can buy this card tho.. coz some of my game are R3 so.. I prolly need to get the add-on on Sg psn?

I don't have problem to use on US psn .. coz I'm using my mom credit card.. she and my brother, sister lives in NYC n dad passed away there also, now maybe I just need a Jpn gf who have cc to use on Jpn psn.. www

I juz bought Pixel Junk Eden for my gf thru US psn... think she will f*** delighted to see it tonite. Previously we use psn card but so limited.. now they are nowhere selling in jb or sg.

Can they can let us transfer credit.. over psn id.. if can then you people can paypal to me, and I will transfer the credit thru my us psn id. I don't mind doing this if it is not hassle.

Anywya what so great with us psn id other than alot of theme and wallpaper to download.. I found their games are more expensive 2-3 dollar..

I was looking for psn card that work with SG psn coz my main id is there n for my r3 game add on coz i dont have cc . For US psn id i used my mom(in US) cc to add credit to my wallet. Ya the game in US psn r more expensive n need 80cents tax but this is my current way to get psn game until i get my cc in sg. I dont think there is any big deal with US psn anyway. Addon arent so importat to me. The SG psn card r so rare n nowhere to find.

Wish could share with all where to get playstation network card in Malaysia. It's helps buyer and also good for seller to market. I am talking about physical shop not online one. Of course PlayStation network cards can be bought in any PlayStation SONY store but not available nation wide.

Let start with cap cities in Malaysia.

Alor Setar :
RSD Pacific

Penang:
Sony Center Sunway Carnival (MY)
Sony Center Pacific Megamall (MY)
Sony Center Gurney Plaza (MY)
Gamemart One-Stop (UK, £20 for RM119; SG can order upon request) (cont. by :shufflerz, TQ)

Kuala Lumpur :
Sony Store KLCC.
Sony Centre The Curve
Gamers Hideout ? ( can somebody confirm?)
mid valley- where?
Time Square- 6th floor
Lowyat - where?

Do you own a shop selling one? US, HK or Japs card?

Care to share and add the list from Perlis to Sabah?

True, but your paypal account must be registered under the same country i.e. "Please note that your PayPal™ account must be registered in the same country as your Sony Entertainment Network account. For example, if your Sony Entertainment Network account was set up in France, you will only be able to use PayPal™ if your PayPal™ account billing address is also in France."

Try before.... they won't allowed our PayPal to top up USA account. Nothing will happen. So it kinda sucks having to buy overprice card.

play-asia sells them, but they are a bunch of liars. advertise as in stock, but in actual fact NO stock. i am waiting for their refund now. I hope it's not refund in the form of store credit because I have no plans to purchase from them ever again.

i bought from pcgamesupply.com. Got my codes within 30 minutes!

Lowyat Games garage sales has several sellers selling them, but 2 are selling at extremely good rates : hazwandek and weirdoz. You can search for them there. If they have the codes in stock, will get the codes within 5 minutes after transferring. Last I checked, hazwandek selling at RM148, weirdoz selling at RM155

Current market rate is USD50 = RM166!

Edit:

Here are their links
hazwandek: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2195611
weirdoz: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2615168

Just sharing with fellow R1 gamers - not affiliated with any one of them
