For 400 bucks you're better off upgrading a camera that's been around for 4 years. Spec wise you can easily get one comparable or better for the same price. Those Ixus or new powershot models are very good.

Conclusion : Time for an upgrade

Problem is camera does not have that problem before servicing, I have a feeling that they screwed me up somehow, somewhere.

A solid case to get a free repair?

If you feel that you've got a case, then bump it a level higher and complain to the management. You can take back your unit and test but the techies might have already meddled with the unit.

Do you have paperwork of any preliminary inspection/testing done when you sent the camera for repair? Otherwise it'll just be your word against the techies.

*However, I have asked the Canon lady to send the unit back to me. Should I cancel this and then request for higher management intervention?

Thanks for all the replies.

My advise is try. Let them investigate on their end. But don't keep your hopes too high.

By the way, are they charging you any service charges so far? All the hassle and service charges might make not make it worth your while.

Anyone poisoned you with a DSLR option yet? tongue.gif

For the G9's price... might as well swing to the other tree completely. rclxms.gif
