I am in dilemma now. Previously I visited to Sunway and I been told that for those who fail in CAT cannot proceed to ACCA Part 2(Well, all of us aware of this rule). But problem occured as Sunway required its CAT students to take T8 which is an audit paper instead of the one I had studied that is T10 Financial Management. ACCA students always claimed that audit is the toughest paper. I worry if I really fail(touch wood!), my 30% ACCA tuition fees have to be forfeited and the rest defer to next semester. Money is not a big matter since it is not a big amount. But how about I fail this time, and I do the audit paper(is compulsory to all malaysian students, this is the rule set by Sunway) then I fail again? This will definitely diminishing my confidence and determination to further anymore. As this is the case I saw many times, many students suffer from this before.

My next option would be to study at Singapore since I'll be seeking my career in the later days at Singapore. But the application of student pass is troublesome and it takes time. Furthermore the course commenced on July. I'm think of whether I should really take a break for half year or find a half year job at Singapore perhaps?

Any suggestion from you guys?

You can take T10 in Sunway actually. But this will take some effort. I have classmates switching from T8 to T10 after the first few weeks. It certainly raised their chances of passing CAT.

On the other hand I also know some who continue with T8 and failed. They are now taking T10 but 6 months wasted. Basically T8 is an OPTION, you can choose not to take it.

It just might take some effort of explaining to them why you don't want to take audit.

Thank you for telling me so. They told me for Malaysian students, it is compulsory to take T8, while T10 only if you're China students.

I have overcome some annoying enquiries from others, especially some aunties who insist that local uni is the best of best, no study local uni=useless... Sometimes I really tired in explain to them what is ACCA all about, on the other hand, I don't want to offence anyone, so keep silent all the time. Who really knows the efforts we have put into each of the ACCA papers??! Suppose majority will only be the ACCA students themselves.

5) Why so few know about this ?
It bocs ACCA lack exposure in Malaysia (among students & non finance related field). Go Uk & ask ACCA everyone will know. In Malaysia maybe only 1% of population. Most who felt ACCA is difficult so they pursue degree first & do ACCA later (but technically this is unsound strategy)
Don't worry i have tired explaining to everyone what is ACCA, tell them this "wait until i work fist & then look at my remuneration & then start to comment"

I like this reply from Topace111 very much~

Quote it down as my best reference smile.gif When there is someone ask me again:

"Why you study ACCA? Go for other uni and get degree better...."

At least, I have to say to those who have completed their ACCA ----> SALUTE! notworthy.gif

I noticed that in part E of my examination results and status report stated that I'm not opted into ACCA/OXford Brookes Degree Partnership. Does it indicated I can't get my OBU degree? How to change this status? I look for my previous CAT status report it's showing me that I'm opted into, but come to ACCA part 2 level, the status shows the other way round... Really have no idea what the heck going on.

I think you need to complete the ethics module.
I do not remember the details but you need to complete them for certain timing
If you want to submit this round (March - April) you need to complete ethics before jan 31.
Then next round is at (Sept to Oct).
*
Alright. That means in order to obtain OBU, complete ethics module is a must? I always thought that ethics module come after complete all fundamental papers and before taking P1.

I think when u register for ACCA the first time, u did not opt for OBU, hence ur status. But Ive read somewhere, it says u have to opt in before attempting F7,F8,F9, but im not sure if u have completed either 1, ull still be able to opt in. Better call ACCA msia as soon as possible if u have attempted either 1 for clarification!
*
Luckily I noticed of the wording of "not opted into..." if not all my efforts in obtain a degree is gone sweat.gif Will call ACCA by tomorrow. One thing makes me curious, why there's an option for people to choose whether opted or not opted into OBU degree? Thoght that get an extra degree is always an advantage?
