Dark Knight:
3 Trailers, 2 IMAX Featurettes, 6 TV spots, 1 "The Making", and 1 Two-Face clips.

WANTED:
1 Teaser, 2 Trailers, 1 Red Band Trailer, 1 International Trailer, 1 Super Bowl Spot, 6 TV Spots, 1 Featurette, 1 Exclusive Clip, 8 Normal Clips, 2 Extended Clips, 1 Restricted Clip, 1 Exclusive Featurette.

Incredible Hulk:
1 Teaser, 3 Trailers, 5 Featurettes, 9 TV Spots, and 6 Clips.

And don't let me start on the recent Iron Man.
The way I can summaries this: at the end of all the clips shown by the marketing people of these movies, what's left for us is the ending.. sweat.gif

Q: What do you think of all these way-too-many-clips tactics?
I know it has been like this since quite a long time, just thought of giving it a discussion.
I for one do not watch all of em, maybe just 1 or 2 and that's it.

And this is the latest for Dark Knight tongue.gif

exactly.....even Chinese movie are the same....if u remember Stephen Chow's Kung Fu few years back....I didn't really laugh in the cinema, because all the laughing already showed in all the trailers...I already finished laughing before I went into the cinema.....

for me having those trailers and other diffrent teaser for that movie itself is already spoiling the movie for us cause it has shown us so many parts or clips from the movie that we already like know how the movie will be and people can also have their predict on it on what is gonna happen so i voted yes from the poll wink.gif

I guess too many clips can ruin a movie (i.e spidey3)
However the studio need to put out all this video to attract people who doesn't know about the movies. So there is pros and cons.

P.S the new Dark Knight t.v spot is wicked

Very good thread. I agree wholeheartedly. I think Spiderman 3 would have been better if we were spared from watching all the action clips through YouTube.

MUST RESIST CLICKING ON TDK UPDATES :@!!!!

I think having 1 teaser/trailer is more than enough for a movie. Anymore is pretty much giving away interesting scenes or plot.

I agree that most trailers / preview clips spoil the movie because they already contain the best parts of the movie itself. Hence when you go and watch the whole show, the oomph factor is gone because you've already watched and know what will happen next.

However, it is also one of the best marketing tools to entice ppl to go to the cinemas.

But I wish that they don't show so much of the plot and action in the trailers. What they could do is, show a very very brief intro on what the show is about without giving out the integral storyline or action.

If I were to take example of WANTED, the FIRST trailer is good enough, where they show the hero turns to zero, introduction to Jolie and Morgan Freeman, and stop!

But THEN!

My hand got gatal, and I clicked on the clip where he showed the hero trying to shoot the guy in the car with the bullet-proof window tongue.gif

Latest from BANGKOK DANGEROUS:

Critics had already started to bash this movie based from this bad clip tongue.gif
This is a slightly different case from the title (bad clips being marketed), hope the entire movie was not made like this.

And Cage needs to accept his obvious baldness just like Bruce Willis did.
This new hair is just sweat.gif
