1. Mobile GPUs are not supported officially and require modification to the inf file in the driver to install.
2. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 and GTX 280 is not supported by this driver.

Officially - No. NVIDIA hasn't been releasing laptop drivers for ages. You need to download mobile GPUs drivers from your laptop manufacturer site.

You can install it if you modify the driver files. It should work flawlessly with 8400M GS.
