Hi. Just going to compile most of my questions here...
(@_@)... I pray a dear soul will come along and help this ... Ugly, shattered soul. Haha.

First off, I do apologize if I am repeating the same topic again/ Post into the wrong forum.
I tried searching for the topic using the search button ... But (@_@) ... I found nothing ...
Either that (@_@) ... Or I am really a nub nub when using the search button.

Please do forgive me.

My question is ... Any recommendations on a good facial spa/beautician? For a budget of a student?

I rather dislike commercialized facial spas/beautician mainly due to the fact:

[1] That they try to sell their products to you - I hate it when they try to push me down how bad my skin is [Which is most probably true], lower my self-esteem and try selling products to me.

[2] Different staff with totally different level of skills ... Which I hate it. Some does it well, some just plain don't. And I want consistency for my money. Especially since my skin ... Is full with blackheads/whiteheads and I have oily and dehydrated skin.

[3] They just slap whatever on my skin without really throughly analyzing what kind of skin I have. In the long run, it is just going to kill my skin.

I prefer a private and professional one. Not commercialized. I do not mind paying extra for it.
Areas near Petaling Jaya will be great ... Or nearby.

My second question is about hair.
My hair is really dry and frizzy. My hair is permed by the way.
Any recommendations of a hair product to remedy the problem?
So far I am using Paul Mitchell's Tea Shampoo and Detangler.

So ...
(>~<)""
... Anyone help? Haha.

wub.gif
Every comment, help (even err ... Flames/Crap?[But most probably will be ignored]) appreciated.

*cracks fingers* Here we go

Section A - On the Topic of Facials

You can try leonard drake. They have student packages for facials. something like RM 60 each round or something like that o.o-b

I like going to this lady in Bangsar Shopping Complex on the top floor near the Times book shop. Kak Fatimah. She's good but pricey tho. She doesn't work on sundays only her helper but you can make a booking and she will come if needed.

If you are price concious why not do a routine at home by yourself?
You can start with a gentle cleaner, then a good facial scrub using a facial sponge and then a steaming with a bowl of hot water and some essential oil added in. I find Lavender or Bergamot to be good. Cover your head with a towel while over the bowl. 15 minutes aught to do it. Next pat dry and spritz with ZA energy water. Follow with your treatment cream and let it sit in a for a while. Good oppurtunity to use those that are extra hydrating that you would normally not use on regular days because scared greasy. let it sit for 10 minutes( massaging in circular motions while waiting helps) then use a toner to gently wipe of the excess grease. Wet 2 cotton pads with your toner and put then on your cheeks or forehead+nose+chin, this depend on wether it's the oil control or hydrating toner. Leave for 2 minutes. Finally put a thin layer of your moisturizer and you are all ready to go happy.gif If you get really good at this you can experiment with more interesting skin care items like loreal's dermabrasion treatment. If you get even better at it you can do it for your friends too ^__^

Section B - On the Topic of Hair

Dry, Frizzy, Permed. Hey! Almost like mine! except I've gotten over the dry part. Still kinda frizzy but only when I don't comb it properly or put conditioner ^^;; I use Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner. Also the All Soft Heavy Cream as a weekly treatment. I have Redken Extreme Anti-Snap leave-on treatment(mum took it cos she liked it too ;_;) for some days when it feels too humid or I want an extra shine. For regular styling after washing in the mornings I comb and apply Redken's 07 curl activator. It's good for permed hair so that it doesn't look limp and has nice bounce even when you don't blow dry. Helps to keep the frizz at bay as well. If hair is unnaturally frizzy you can use Redken 01.
I seem like a redken fan, don't I ^^;; Well... they seem to work the best for me so far and I've tried every product from over the counter to paul mitchell (love the smell of the super skinny apples and yogurt^_^) to Loreal to shiseido and all the others. I thank God for Australia's Hair warehouse for all that ^__^ so many things to try there happy.gif

PM's Tea shampoo is more for oily hair/scalp right? I think for permed hair you should settle for something that has moisturizing properties in it. Don't go for the Redken Fresh Curls range tho. I find that our weather is not the best and that one can turn pretty ringlets to greasy maggi mee chunks if not careful. Do a hair mask at home once a week. 3 times is optimum but we are all not that free or diligent i think ^^;; After washing your hair, get nice heavy conditioner (like Tresemme) or treatment (like loreal elseve) and smooth that into your hair. Clip it and put it under a showercap. Wrap a towel round your head and wait for 30 minutes. It's going to itch. It's going to sweat. keep your fingers away from it and don't open the showercap. The heat is a good thing o.o-b Rinse and experience nice soft hair. Good for the next 2-3 days happy.gif
Go easy on blowdrying permed hair. If need to get a heat protector and spray on your hair before that. Loreal Professional line has a nice one. Can't remember what colour the bottle is ^^;; I prefer to towel dry and sit near a fan to dry my hair. Not too good at night but still better than crispy hair in the morning.

I hope this answers your questions ^^ If you need more specifics just post here and I'll see what else I can do.

Hi Saint [The name fits you really well wub.gif , a saint! Haha]
First off all, thank you so much for your big help.
I appreciate it very, very much.

Facials
Thank you for your tip on a personal routine at home and about Leonard Drake.
I never heard of Leonard Drake before ...
blush.gif I guess I am blur when it comes to these kind of beauty stuff.

I wanted to go for facials because I am afraid I might do something, not right on my own face.
I went for a trial facial before - for free. They did my blackheads.
Something that I alone can't very well do.

So I assumed going for facials will be much better than performing a personal routine.

About Kak Fatimah - How much does she usually charge? What process does she do when she charges you?

Dry dry/oily and frizzy hair! Bish them.

Ahh, you tried a variety of hair products already?
I tried Paul Mitchell because a guy[Maniac on hair products] recommended me one.
No I didn't buy from him laugh.gif.
He recommend me as a friend.

He dislike Redken though, but I might try it out laugh.gif after reading your comments on it.

Hair Masque at least 3 times a week?
Will that be alright? Because most people tell me to perform hair masque once a week!
So I limited myself to once a week as I am afraid it might damage or something to my hair. [Which is already badly damaged]

Paul Mitchell's Tea Shampoo - For oily scalp.
I am not too sure about that actually.
I forgot to mentioned that the old lady looked at my hair and said ..
My hair is dry and frizzy ... And I have an oily scalp . Dandruff attacks too. sad.gif
sweat.gif

Argh ...
I do apologize, I forgot to mention that I have oily scalp.

Really appreciate your help saintangelius.
Thank you once again laugh.gif.

I went for a very nice facial yesterday at Damansara Utama. It is very different from other facials because they are using brush technique which they claim is cleaner. The first trial is only RM38 (original price RM160) and the facial lasts for at least 2hours!! (but mine is about 3 hours because my face is quite terrible which require more time for extraction). The facial includes facial massage, shoulder massage, ampoules, ultrasound, 2 types of masks and so on~ and the beauticians are so so so much more professional than those I met in other beauty salons!

oh yeah, for your info, RM38 first trial facial offers me:
- 2 to 3 hour brush technique facial
- first trial of full body massage (1 hour) at RM18
- RM30 cash voucher
- FREE cleanser or toner (up to you which one you want)

RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS!! (cos i am a student, and they offer student package)

this beauty salon is not commercialized at all. it's kinda private.
1) they are not pushy and never push clients to buy products. they are friendly!!
2) all the beauticians there are very professional. 3 beauticians took turns to do facial for me yesterday, but all of them have high level of skills, which satistfy me very much.
3) they did skin analysis first before deciding what type of facial to do for you. (unlike any other salons which slap everything on your face)

happy with the service veryyyy much. will go back there next week~ rclxm9.gif

haha, i have spend a lot of money on beauty saloon, which could buy a medium cost apartment.....

cos they say i am bad in this la, that la, asked me to buy lots and signed for course

i am stupid enuf, and wan my self to look better, so buy lor, sign lor

indeed, the saloon, both skincare they sell and the service they provide have vey very high margin

do your daily routine well, 3 steps, remove dead skin, apply mask, sleep well, drink more water, moderate exercise is good for skin

for your hair- after washed, beat an egg thorough , mix with few drops of vinegar/cider, and with some milk powder, olive oil (optional)

apply on hair, wrap with towel or bath cap

u can see the result just for 1 treatment

but , apply for maximun 2 a week, else it is too oily and nutricious to hair
