If I have ample space for it, I would buy Servo-15. It is in my wish list. Now, gotta save enough $$$ for other bigger project.

Why do you guys need such a powerful sub? I bet ur place is not that big either giving average home size here. If you crank up the volume it will swallow every other sound. Kind of pointless. Kiasu is it?

If you crank up the volume it will swallow every other sound. Kind of pointless. Kiasu is it? why? hehe ill tell u.. before i think sub is just for the BASS.. well that is true for music.. but for movies.. its all about the Feel.. and thats what Big sub is for.. the simulation.. and no my svs does not swallow any sound. it accentuates them really since its non directional so it kinda leaches on which ever channel sound is coming from.. say explosion happens on the backright, so sound is heard on the back right, but the Boom/Wahh comes non directionally from the sub, however since my eyes see this happening on the right, and audible directional sound heard from the backright, my mind auto associates those boom/wah from the back right.. haha dunno how to explain this effect.. but bassically its as if my 9.1 are giving me those Deep effects..and if ur sub is swallowing every other sound then there must be a crossover issue there or thats a terrible sub.. its not pointless at all and nothing to do with kiasu.. its all Preference so.. my conc, sub = for bass.. powerful sub for feel.. Added on September 14, 2008, 10:04 pmeyes = check (tv) ears = check (speakers) feel = check (power sub) smell = not yet (but i heard some cinemas are trying it) taste = not yet This post has been edited by callmevil: Sep 14 2008, 10:04 PM |

So, the sole choice is big sub if you want really low freq. You dont need to crank that high for powerful sub. The trick is how to blend it in nicely to complement your sys. If you get that, then you will have very nice sounding setup w/o overpowering bass. My room is small though |

Over power by the sub...for music...not recommended also But....if for movie.....I also sometimes switch to 1/2 on the volume....already scare my daughter away to find my HM.... Actually, for me...at the moment....one is enough......just wish to upgrade a floorstand speaker..... Wonder why your guy eat so much poison until wanna to get another extra sub.....may be I am not reach to the level...keeeeee This post has been edited by ALPS2008: Sep 14 2008, 11:30 PM |

If I have ample space for my HT room, I would go for full range speakers for each channels. Holy Grail! This organsm is unbeatable. LOL!

sub still need, even with reffrence speakers down to 20Hz . the power from the sub can't be replaced by any speakers .. unless very very powerfull amps, but you won't wanna push your speakers tooo much. let the sub do the job.

Depending on individuals. Some will buy a sub for each channel. Then, use high pass to connect speakers. In this configuration, you will have 8 subwoofers and 7 speakers. The other alternative is to use power amp for each channel to drive those full range speakers. If money no object, monoblock will be given the task |
