Probably that because the Klipsch RW-10D is in a big 'open' area that hinders the actual performance.

I think we need Nakata101 to comment about this RW-12D.

OT : How did you find the Klipsch loudspeakers? A lot of people shy away because they think that the Tractrix horn tweeter might be too bright to them. IMHO, it has improved. Maybe many customers feedback to them on it.

How I wish I can audition both before making the decision.

Price is about the same for both the CHT-12Q and the RW12-D

Spec wise I think the RW12-D has more power.  But both of these lose to the JBL ES250P which have 400w RMS continuos power and 700w peak and price much cheaper too...only Rm1800 for a 12" sub.  Now i am really confused! rclxub.gif
*

I have personnaly sold this sub before. it produce ample bass but not those 'vicious' bass that Velo generate. Strange but true. At this power rating, it sld have produce sofa shaking bass. But, no. Probably that lies in the built material or the driver itself as at this power rating, it sld be at least same weight or heavier than Velo or Klipsch. It only weighs in below 20kg.

It is ideal for small to mdeium size room. Having said that, this sub aint very good for music. For the money, there isn't much to complain. Then again, why settle for it if you could afford something better? wink.gif

anfieldude, I have the software (dunno where I chuck it) and SPL Meter. But never put it to good use blush.gif

Maybe I need to take a day off from everything to focus on this calibration.

One thing I notice about the REL T1 is that is has twin 10" driver...one active downward firing and a passive forward firing.  I can understand that the active one is powered by the internal 300w high current amp but what about the passive one.  Is the Passive forward firing driver just a piece of rubber driven by the energy of the active driver or is it a driver driven by the power of the main AV receiver that is connected to the high level input of the T1?
*

Passive driver is not driven by the power of the main receiver. It is sort push and pull tech. It is driven by 'moving air' of the active woofer. It is not a new technology. My front speakers are using a 10" passive woofers. The other 10" woofers driven by amp.

One thing I really like about the Klipsch RW-12D is the yellowish alluminium driver.  Its beautiful.  The overall looks of the RW-12D is very nice but I have not listen to how it sound.  I am sure it can sound really big but how does it perform with music?
*
RW-12D primarily for HT task. It rumbles and hit hard. When comes to music, it aint the best in its class. But, its sexiness is drool.gif drool.gif

I thought CHT-12Q is easier to set up than CHT-12R. No? Or is it due to your room acoustic issue?

I think Optimum is SPL-Ultra.

Optimum for US Domestic mart and neighbouring countries. The rest 230V is SPL-Ultra

Great. Will wait for all your field reports soon.

Please remember to inform us what kind of floor you have because Nelson from Centre Circle mentioned that for carpet over concrete floor usually there is no vibrational issue that requires the SubDude to cure. If you have the usual tiled floor or parquet or timber strips then SubDude is more useful.
*
If I put mine on a rug, does that consider as carpet? Whole room not entirely carpet. Nvm, will try out tonight.
