poor man's sub upgrade: turn my CHT-10R sub face down on 4" thick furniture-grade foam to become down-firing and partially sealed sub. biggrin.gif

result: noticeably tighter bass and much less boomy but can't use remote.

next: working on a foam plug for the front port of the sub.

Not sure about PC-13Ultra (105lbs) but for PC-12Plus (85lbs) is about USD460.

i heard they r moving their manufacturing plant.. not sure if that is y they r replying so slow.. anyway feel free to '***' them in your mail.. i did it before n they still treated me very nice.. anyway to speed things up just give them your full address for door to door quotation.. if airport then i think either klia or pg .. it will take a few days as they need to wait for the shipping co to quote them.. if they still dont answer that means their service is bad now

Definitely smoke RW-12D. PC-13Ultra is about USD1,960 excluding tax (20%+10%) while RW-12D is less than RM2.7K sweat.gif

If you seriously want a good sub, you need to spend at least min 5k and above. Those entry level sub normally can't produce clean bass and very deep low freq. If you looking at velodyne sub, I would say start with SPL series. Once you hear/feel how a better sub perform, you wouldn't satisfy with entry-sub.

One scene that my friends always blown away is star wars episode 2 on light saber duel. With a good sub, you can feel the low humming of the light saber.

I think that is very true. Most sub( I won't call them entry level because they are not cheap) can produce powerful bass that can shake our house but lacks quality or responsiveness. Its very much like digital camera where company push for higher megapixel but suufer in image quality due to higher noise.

I think the REL T1 emphasis more on quality bass than power, but that doesn't mean that its wimpy. I was wrong to judge it by its size until I actually listen to it. It pack a very powerful high quality class A/B amp with 300watts rms and that allows it to rise up to the challenge when call upon. From my short listening session with the T1, I am more than happy with the power of the T1 as it proves it can move serious amount of air too although it won't really shake the foundation of the house.

Not only heard but feel as well. That is the problem. To me a good sub must be able to 'shake' the house & every things in it! tongue.gif tongue.gif
When I wrote to SVS giving them my requirement & space they recommend TWO PB-13 ultra for me. blink.gif But unfortunately my wallet is wafer thin. sad.gif Ah! Now if I do have the money that will me the sub to own. biggrin.gif

In terms of subwoofer, for my limited budget I'd really like the MFW-15 from AV123. Highest rated budget sub on the craigsub list. 15" sub for USD$699. Too bad they don't ship outside USA at the moment. sad.gif
