Affordable means how much ar?
Looking at the interest shown on this sub, me also start getting itchy oredi

I was thinking that too but the price is quite expensive getting them into Malaysia... Est cost will be $1599+$300 (est. s/h)+$480(30% tax?)=US$2,370 * 3.5=RM8,326 for PB13 Ultra If I can get it in Singapore and I mght get someone helpping me "transport" into Malaysia, I might not need to spend ~US$480 for tax and cost me around $1599+$300+$150 (est transport fee from SG to MY)=US$2049 *3.5=RM7,171 only Best still if I'm lucky I might not even pay transport fee at all

Dunno, what is the custom tax for HT equipment to be shpped in Malaysia huh?

But think about it, it will not be difficult to find buyer for SVS since it has no dealer in Malaysia/Singapore...

believe so as it fall under AV category, right? If no tax then will be much easier...

we could re-classify as PC multimedia sub

for such a size that might be bigger than the PC and cost more than a PC? I doubt they will believe it...

Actually, the only problem would be god forbid you happen to be one of the unlucky ones, where there is a problem with the sub. Then not having a distributor would mean sending it back and all that, it then becomes a headache.

I hear you... but personally I think it is one thing that I'm willing to bet on...

How much it cost to scratch the itchy

Depends on how big an itch you have

I might be able to get "transporter" to assist but need to pay certain $$ lah, but will be cheaper than 30% tax for sure...

bro actually according to extremeplace svs section.. the fella claimed it took only 10days for the replacement parts to reach his door steps(in singapore).. they will help u troubleshoot n pin point the faulty part then they will send the replacement.. BUT u have to replace it yourself.. diagrams and instructions r given... then u have to send the faulty part back to them.. postage covered by them... by the way their warranty period is much longer than what most of our local distributors can offer... and yes i do agree its more troublesome but for me not much diff coz my hometown only got cacat hifi shops and claiming warranty certainly take ALOT more than 10 days:)

i can only afford the entry level bolster...

so far the price i can get is about USD569+USD180 ...since taukeh nakata wanto share my tumpang will be additional 5% discount on the top...

this will be the charge implied by SVS DOOR to MY peasant rumah kandang door * exclude kopi ping at kettam...

so again see how many cup of kopi need to buy... but the price is about same as 12-Q

bro if u choose door to door i thought the shipping co will pay the full tax for u n collect from u at your door step... then how r u going to have a heart to heart talk with our 'bersih cekap amanah' pakcik...

Don't think so the door to door shipping will cover the tax leh.... As they will not know how much will need to be taxed, it is different from coutry to contry...

i am not sure too.. but i am quite sure shipping co like dhl will pay the tax for u n collect it at your door... svs is using bax global.. any1 has any idea how they work?

Service depends on the company. If I'm not wrong, some company might ask you to diagnose yourself which part is having problem. They will send the parts down for you to replace yourself so you save in transportation. For eg. recently I bought a pair of Axiom QS-8 surround speaker. Best part is free shipping for 3 biz day using Fedex. After 2 months, one of the driver is having problems (you can hear static sound for certain freq). The tech support just ask me to do some simple test and send a replacement within 7 days without asking me to return the defective driver. So this type of internet purchase is OK, much better than dealer support which sometimes take 1 month to return the unit.

If you got jalan, get a group buy and use shipping in container (which you can either buy half or full container load). Sometimes they have ways with custom to "ignore" tax.
