QUOTE(AriesChai @ Jul 17 2008, 08:04 AM) is not the display unit but is old stock Hi, AriesChai, thanks for your info on Acer AL2423W LCD monitor. I'd really like to gather more info before buying it but the SRI Computer staff was not very helpful when I called up to ask. Except telling me the price (new item RM999), 1y warranty, all they know to say is 'you come and see-lah". It fits my budget and specs (24", non-TN, height adjustable). The only downside is that the it might have 'no signal' problem. Hope you can shed some lights on the LCD monitor.

Well, I don't mind BenQ. I had a few older models. Haven't owned any of the latest ones, but I have used them several times. You won't go wrong with the V2400W or the G2400W. Decent.
Dells, the last one I had was an older 07 without HC. But I prefer the Dell because of their design and the stands. In fact, that's the only reason and they have a very good warranty.
The 2408 is too expensive and I won't be spending that much unless they're close to releasing the 2409, etc then you'll find the prices going down very low before the new one is launched. But from what I've heard, the 2408 isn't a very good monitor. I haven't used it, but I have friends swearing about it all the time. The new revision makes it a lot more tolerable, but you won't get it unless you buy it new or get an exchange if you already have the older revision.
The V2400W is a very good monitor, a friend has it and I've taken a look at it. Not bad, but no height adjustment so I didn't get it. Plus it's slim, but I didn't quite like the buttons, etc. The G2400W is also very nice, but here it's more expensive than the V2400W which I think is quite ridiculous. Overseas, it's cheaper or the same price. Also, the TN panel might be something you don't want.
All in all, I'd probably avoid the 2408, wait for the 2409 or something. Or get an older 2407 which isn't too bad. Just my opinion of course. I'm no expert, just what I've experienced so far.
