Ah..thanks for that.
Good to know that the 22" is HD ready. So, basically it is 1080i rather than 1080p..err...right?

I'll try to load up some movies right after my LCD arrives tomorrow.

Most 22" (unless it is Full-HD) are 1680x1050 not 1080p or 1080i.
1080p or 1080i is only for 1920x1080 display.

so, if it is a 22" HD Ready, that's mean the HD is on 720p eh?

To be more precise, ALL 24" are Full HD cos they're at least 1080 tall.

Cos Full HD is 1920x1080 onwards.
Normal 22" is 1680x1050. The new BenQ 22" (forgot the model) is full HD cos its max res is 1920x1080.

Oh, I see it now.
As long as the max reso are either 1920x1080 or higher, it doesn't matter if it's 19" or 22", it will be regards as full hd.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Yes, the BenQ 22".
Nope it's not stretched; but shrunk. Yeah all the images will be smaller & sharper.

For Benq model like T2200HD and E2200HD (noted the HD) is Full HD because the resolution is 1920x1080.
Normal 22" monitor like 2253LW have 1680 x 1050 which is not Full HD standard but a HD Ready. If you go to electronic shop you find 32" LCD TV with "HD Ready" label, please don't mistaken it as Full HD support. To know about HD Ready please go HD Ready.

But don't worry about those Full HD support because unless you have Blu-Ray drive or PS3 and have bunch of money to buy originally Blu-Ray movies, there is high probably you don't use the 1080p format. Full 1080p movie files are too big to download and tv series can be easily available in 720p format rather than 1080p format.

aiyo aiyo - let me clear the misconception:

HD READY = refer to HDTVs that are without built in HD Tuner. It does not refer to resolution. It states whether a HD Tuner is present in the HDTV. HD READY TVs can be of 720p or 1080p FULL HD TVs.

there are three types of TV Tuners

Analogue = Think RTM, TV3 using rabbit antenna
Digital = Think Astro decoder
High Definition (HD) = Dun think, if got also cannot use here in Malaysia

now everybody paham?

As far as I know, Astro is still transmitting in analogue signal. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey guys,

I have been surfing the internet for a new monitor and came across the BenQ E2200HD (TN) and the ViewSonic VX2260wm (both full HD).
I already had the Dell 2007WFP (S-IPS) on my list.

I am not a fanatic gamer. What I do on the pc is video editing, so true great colors are more important to me.

Which one is to be expected the best choice for me?
