Yo, add me to the speed black list please tongue.gif Visited Lowyat four times and finally bought an AP speed black today for rm730 with screen protector and 256 M2 card.

Here's a few questions:

Its distributor is ComSat, is it reliable?

The 7th number of the IMEI code is 02, does it matter?

I hope i can update the firmware myself though it's an AP set, if not, how should I update it? The firmware is still 3BXXX25, heard the latest is 3DXXX29? Confusing.... Still charging it now, will find out tmr, experienced owners please give me a hand XD

Comsat is quite reliable.

The IMEI code does not matter.

You can try updating it the normal way, if it doesn't detect the latest firmware, you need to do a bit of hacking on the CDA.

Thanks for the fast response, I've successfully update the firmware, but I wanted to insert Chinese traditional language into the phone so I can sms with my family in Hong Kong. I chose the Hong Kong option in the update software but it still came out without the traditional language. How should I install a language into the phone?

There is also a problem I've discovered, that my phone's IMEI does not match the box's IMEI code, does that matter? I've registered my warranty claim through sms with comsat with my phone's IMEI...

Check your CDA number instead of IMEI(the codes that show up when you are upgrading your phoneware), you need a ASEAN reign CDA code to have both chinese and english language on your phone, I used 1201-0176 CDA code, and it has all south east asian languages. Google your way on how to hack it, it is quite easy if you know what you're doing.

Don't bother the box, as long as the phone's IMEI is recorded on your receipt, which is used for warranty.

Thanks for the advice. I am not sure which one is the CDA code, but the number under "customization" is 1201-0176 R12A, "EROM" 1200-4341...

Thanks for sharing, but how do you install the cam drive? Plus, if I find a CDA online, how do I install that into my phone? Thanks again for all the info =D

You will need A2uploader to flash the files into your phone,

I have attached the file to change CDA, edit it with notepad and replace the CDA code on it, then flash it to your phone's directory /tpa/preset/custom/ with A2uploader.

Just sharing, becareful cause flashing may brick your phone so do it at your own risk. smile.gif

I've found some minor problems after updating to R3DA029.
1.The shortcut key doesn't respond when pressed (doesn't show even when SMS is recieved).
2. Date numbers disappeared in the calender after I input a reminder.
3. When I tried deleting something, the 'YES' option text disappeared.
4. Calling records disappaered.
5. When I go into games, it just froze at blank white or black screens.

All these problems disappeared after restarting the phone, but doesn't sound very good, does it? Maybe I should reflash the firmware? (I didn't not use A2uploader, or anything alike to flash files)

I flashed R3EA037 for a few days, and all the old problems that I had with 29 hasn't appear yet, so far so good.

And I've finally got my traditional chinese flashed in from the shop at Lowyat, they did it for free, and it's still R3EA037. CDA code is now 1202-6843.

1 question, can I still keep this CDA code if I update my firmware in the future?
