Ok Guys,
For the PMs I received regarding these issues....Let me reply U here and make it clear so that other Forummers need not ask me or anyone again. 1) How do I update to the Latest Firmware? You can update to the lastest software On S.E.U.S (Sony Ericsson Update Service) Go to www.sonyericsson.com and follow the instructions there. Latest Phoneware ---> R3DA029 2)Do I get charged by my TELCO (Maxis, Celcom, Digi) for using Google Maps on my C702? Yes....Google Map downloads its maps constantly through GPRS Usage in your Phone as there is no preloaded maps. You phone download the maps each time u open Google Maps and and as you move around. 3)Any free GPS Software that doesnt require downloading maps? Yes....Do some research. One example is TREKBUDDY. TREKBUDDY works fine with C702. Preloaded maps are the best alternative. There are pros and cons to this. 4)Does the GPS receiver really work? Yes, it works fine. But the GPS receiver's reception is not as strong as independant GPS Devices such as Garmin or Holux. 5)What is A-GPS? A-GPS is Assisted Global Positioning System. Majority of handphone comes with A-GPS. It means that the phone requires signals from Communications Towers to help determine your location quicker and more accurately. So your telco will charge you when your phone downloads these data through GPRS usage. 6)Does the phone lag when opening/closing applications and making calls? Yes. But not as bad as some other phone models like the W910i. You have to update to the latest phoneware because the phoneware is still being constantly developed and updated. It would never perform as fast as older phones such as the W810i or K750i because its GUI and features are far more advanced eg.. Advanced Menus and Display, GPS, 3G, Cybershot camera. The processor is admittedly a bit slow in supporting the A200 platform 7)Is the phone really waterproof? Read properly. S.E never said the phone is waterproof. It is only splash proof. Meaning that you can listen to your phone under the rain, or you can spill some coffee onto it but NOT bring your phone for a swim or leave it in the washing machine for a wash. I hope these answer most of your queries. Read properly before you post the same questions over and over again. If still in doubt, do some research online. I'm sure you will be able to find these information on the net. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: Dec 27 2008, 06:33 PM |

i though the lastest firmware is R3CA037 ?
just go to malsingmaps.com to download the malaysia/singapore map.... the gps is still barely acceptable just that it take too long time to track the sat.......agps more faster but $$ although it splash proof....don't go and try to splash the water or always splash water to it....nothing is 100% proof..... |

The software version is determined by R3DA. The previous version is R3CA. If this is what u meant,

Its around Rm780 if Im not mistaken for AP. Its About Rm1k++ for Original. Why dont u check out the marketplace thread? Anyway, do check out the energy black version. I saw the real phone and didn't find it too appealing. When I first got my speed black version, the energy black version was launched in the market. Looking at the pictures online, it was very attractive. Damn sakit hati then but then when I saw the real phone, I was relieved I didn't take it. Well one man's meat is another man's poison. Dont know if you will like it.

QUOTE(dotcom @ Dec 30 2008, 11:40 AM) I bought mine from a Lowyat.net member(jssim) at RM735 without any free gifts, I think it is pretty good price considered I have surveyed around and most shops are selling it at RM760~780, although with free screen protector or pouch. |

Anyone knows how many SMS can the C702 store? Is it phone memory dependent? Or like the older phones, with limited numbers? (e.g.: 1000sms for K810 ), thanks in advance!

QUOTE(larrytty @ Jan 2 2009, 10:23 AM) questionsss 1- I once washed my phone under the tap, still working perfectly. It is splash resistance from all angle but not water/pressure proof, meaning water can still get in if it gets completely submerged into water, because of pressure. Say, if you accidentally dropped it into a pool, I think you got about 10seconds to retrieve it. All and all, don't ever take it with you for a swim.1- have anyone brought their phone for a swim? cuz it'll be cool if you could bring your phone on a beach and not worry if it ever drop into the sea or anything 2- phone users which color do u prefer? might be getting it along with my girlfren:) 2- I love my speed black.
