Calderon said that VDV probably is the only and the last signing. Great buy, especially now when Sneijder is injured

Real Madrid now has turned attention on Joaquin Sanchez.
I think it will be good for him to leave Valencia since he really can't find himself there. Choose the best for you, dude. |

RvN's put Real Madrid back out in front 2-1. A Zenit player deflected a cross right to where RvN could just kick it in.

QUOTE(verx @ Oct 1 2008, 03:37 AM) Real Madrid can consider themselves lucky to have gotten the full 3 points today. Their defence, especially in the second half was nowhere to be seen and I kept waiting for Zenit to tie it or even to take the lead. but typical Nistelrooy. Always in the right place, at the right time. |

Madrid’s ‘Number 7’ Just Seven Away
After netting a double on Sunday, Los Blancos icon Raúl González Blanco is now just seven goals away from tying Alfredo di Stéfano’s all time goalscoring record. Real Madrid failed to extend their winning run to seven consecutive official games when they could only draw 2-2 against Espanyol on Sunday. The hero of the night was undoubtedly inspirational club captain Raúl, who netted a double as he rallied his side after twice going behind to salvage a precious point at the Bernabéu. And in doing so, he notched up his 208th and 209th league goals and he is now creeping closer to legendary Alfredo di Stéfano’s record. Madrid’s current ‘Number 7’ is only seven goals shy of drawing levelled with the Blonde Arrow’s all-time club record tally of 216 league goals, and 11 away from the 307 total in all competitive, professional games. He is expected to easily surpass that mark this season and tumble his umpteenth record and become the club’s new all-time top scorer. Another figure that Raúl has his sights set on is the club’s record league appearance. He has already made 489 in total, just 35 short of Manuel Sanchís’ haul of 524. That number, however, will have to wait until next season at the earliest before it can be exceeded. Real Madrid’s Top 10 All-Time League Goalscorers (Appearances in brackets) 1. Alfredo di Stéfano – 216 (282) 2. Raúl González – 209 (489) 3. Carlos Santillana – 186 (461) 4. Ferenc Puskás – 156 (182) 5. Hugo Sánchez – 164 (207) 6. Francisco Gento – 126 (428) 7. Pirri – 123 (417) 8. Emilio Butragueño – 122 (341) 9. Amancio Amaro – 119 (344) 10. Míchel González – 97 (404) |

ya,deserved win, stupid referee...that red card for Ruud was a joke. I didn't see it clearly but i think that his second "goal" was regular...see what is football, Barcelona owned them in 8 minutes and Real also had chance but too bad that shot from Sneijder didn't go in

watched Juventus - Real, 2 silly mistakes by Pepe = 2 goals (5 & 50, omg!), Real came with wrong strategy in 1st half with 3 attackers but even so Juventus didn't create...2nd half was all on Juventus side, 2 bad for this defeat cuz 2:1 sounds unreal...only good thing i can admit about Juventus is their aggressive approach in 1st half and that's the kind of stuff u can't repeat regularly.

I don't know what happened to Cannavaro in this game... he just refused to defend... or something. He was horrendous. It wasn't like him... I know he used to be a former Juve player afterall... |

Real Madrid - Malaga 20:00 CET
The weekend's squad list was comprised of one more player than the customary 18, and his name is Alberto Bueno, forward for Real Madrid Castilla. Sergio Ramos was also called up but will be a game time decision (injury which he picked up against Jubentus). Van Nistelrooy, Pepe, and Rubén de la Red are all out. Robben out for 5-6 weeks - The Dutch striker had to leave the pitch during the warm-up session prior to the match with Juventus. Medical examinations this morning determined Robben has a Grade II tear on his right leg's soleus muscle. Goalkeepers: Casillas, Dudek Defenders: Míchel Salgado, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Marcelo, Heinze, Metzelder Midfielders: Diarra, Gago, Sneijder, Guti, Drenthe, Van der Vaart, Javi García Forwards: Raúl, Saviola, Higuaín, Alberto Bueno |
