Brilliant list of accomplishments in ten years with Real Madrid

Realmadrid.com

Michel Salgado’s career with Real Madrid has come to an end after ten years and 371 matches played for the club.

A long time has passed since 22 January 1995 when the young right back debuted in Primera Division with Celta Vigo against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu. He quickly became one of the top defenders in Spain, which earned him 53 caps with La Roja.

With a handful of offers from Spanish and European clubs, Salgado settled on Real Madrid in the summer of 1999. He has been a symbol of hard work and commitment ever since and has earned the confidence of every coach he has played for.

Salgado debuted for Spain on 5 September 1998, a 3-2 victory against Cyprus. It was with La Roja that Salgado earned international acclaim. Shortly before leaving Celta Vigo, the right back was given the nickname "Il Due" by the Italian press following a match agains Italy. Offers from all over Europe came flying in, but Salgado decided to join Real Madrid and one season later won his first European Cup.

He played in the 2000 Euro held in Belgium and the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Marred by injuries, Salgado was left off the roster for the 2002 World Cup. His last match as an international was against Northern Ireland, a 3-2 victory by Spain in 16 September 2006.

Salgado won it all as a Madridista: two Champions Leagues, four league titles, three Spanish Super Cups, one European Super Cup and one Intercontinental Cup. A brilliant collection of accolades that make Michel Salgado one of the most important players in Real Madrid's recent history.

that's not for competition performance.. i dont see we play our 100% wish, all pre-season game are not our real performance.. i see every game coach change formation, tactic... he still try his best... but still we can afford 5 -0.. that wasnt bad performance...

im hope alonso injury not going serious sad.gif
