The tuition fee is shown here. You can take a look in this.

Prospectus 2011

I'm curtin engineering foundation sem 2 student ^^ And I'm a local.

The number of international students are quite many actually BTW. There are others coming from the west malaysia and sabah as well.
In my group, (total around 20 only as we are from july 2010 intake for foundation sem 1 so the group is smaller, if it's january intake there will be more students)

half of us are sarawakian (chinese n bumiputras like iban), 3-4 from sabah, 1 from burma and 2-3 from west malaysia.

To those thinking of coming here:

Welcome to Curtin and hope you enjoy your studies here. =)

Just an advice, if u are coming to miri to have fun, you will be disappointed. Miri, according to some people, is simply a dead town. LOL
Not much nightlife here.

BTW, surprise to see you here, tehtmc. =)

Added on June 16, 2011, 10:29 pmTo add in some info, the number of international students that are studying foundation in engineering in my batch is 9 people. For the foundation in arts and commerce, i'm not sure. =)

Normally, the summer classes i think they are conducted during the first few months(Jan-Mar) before the march intake. Only my guess, as i'm not that sure about that. U might want to check the curtin website, www.curtin.edu.my

if not mistaken, u have to move in before the orientation starts. Most of my friends coming from other places attended the orientation week. But still, it's up to you.. u know... not all students are willing to attend the orientation week tongue.gif

until now (almost 1.5 years in curtin) i only know that there are this 'transfer to perth for one sem' program that is available to be applied every semester. The fee of that particular semester u go to curtin perth will be counted in MYR (which means u pay curtin sarawak's fee, u get curtin perth's 1 semester, obviously cheaper), but if u decided to stay thr for the next few semesters, that's another case i think.

And i'm not sure how many times a student can apply this. One of the requirement I can remember is that you should have at least 1 year left of study period in curtin if u want to apply.

And just a piece of mind, it might be hard for you to adapt the new environment & cope with the final year high workload studies at the same time if u r going at your final year.... So, if u wish to apply and give it a try, it will be better to try it in ur 2nd year =)

What course are you going to take? Don't you think having the studies done directly in a same campus a good idea? Eg. mechatronics engineering students in curtin sarawak campus must have their final or last 2 years(not sure sweat.gif ) studies in perth... Quite troublesome i think. doh.gif
