Hey guys I am an intl student who will be joining curtin in march next year, I a curious about their engineering and science foundation, How is the quality of education there and would you label it a hard university even for a hard working student? does it really prepare you for efy? I am also confused between engineering and geology.
Lastly is the area safe?

Thanks!

Hi Inter Milan. I currently study engineering degree in Curtin now. Of cuz the foundation in every uni will fully prepare students to enter their own degree and about the difficulties, its really depends, depends on how much effort u can put into it, but all my friends that studied with me they all complete the foundation programme and study in degree right now. smile.gif

Thanks  LCChie , may I ask what engineering you are currently studying? I a thinking of environmental or chemical, I  think the environmental one is new and not many job prospects later also oddly it doesn't even exist in Curtin Perth, anyways how would you rank the living accommodation? I am interested in Curtin water. How is the safety situation near the  accommodations I know they are gated. One thing I know for sure is the environment in campus is excellent for studying and the campus is really beautiful.

I'm currently study chemical engineering in Curtin. As most of the people are currently talking about recycling or taking care of environment right now, so I think Curtin believe that Environmental engineering is predicted to be one of the fastest growing engineering disciplines in the near future. U may no need to choose ur major right now as u have foundation and degree first year total 2 years of time to think which major u r more interested in. For me, the living condition in curtin is quite good as there is shop-lots and a supermarket just opposite Curtin Villa. And there is private houses nearby curtin villa and curtin village doing catering business too. Curtin Water I and II will be slightly further from the area, around 1km away but curtin do provide free shuttle bus services to students. Hope this info can answer ur question smile.gif

How is Bcom Accounting and Finance at curtin? What about environment for international student? Is curtin a good choice over the other twinning UK degree programmes in malaysia?

Most probably I will be joining curtin in feb 2017 for foundation in Commerce as it is the most recent intake, anyone else also aiming for the same intake and for the same programme?

Hi Qp123, some of my friends also studying accounting & finance in curtin, from what they said, most of the Bcom students studying accounting & finance as this course is rank top 200 in the world under QS World Ranking and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Accounting students will also get full exemption into professional paper such as ACCA and CPA. For example, after u graduate from accounting course in Curtin, you just need to take the remaining 5 professional papers in order to get ACCA qualification. ACCA do also offer Curtin students "ACCA Accelerate Program", which they provide chances to Curtin students to take the first out of the remaining 5 professional paper during their final year.

From my opinion, Curtin is a good choice to students compared to twinning UK degree programme as Curtin run their own programme by themselves but for twinning programmes in malaysia, most of the unis are running other UK unis programme on behalf.

Do hope I can answer your questions. smile.gif
