I just flashed 1.23ND version tomato from polarcloud ... works super great ... strong wifi signal .... the radio wave penertrated all the way third floor to ground floor .. i still get 4 bars of signal strength ... amazing ....its like my router was given a good dose of vigra ... very strong ... i recommend it .... but as for skin .... the interface presented looks ugly and discolored .. but i don't mind at all ... its goood ...

wenhui100,

Always you have to execute "erase nvram" in Administration/configuration/restore defaults option ... then you will run w/o weird problems

I have been reading many comments about strange behavior in QoS, Basic Wan PPPoE defaults, .... please, do a erase nvram reset after you update your firmware, it will avoid almost of the complaints I'm reading in these posts.

Thanks

1st. The LAN IP of the router can never be the same as the modem IP... first mistake. Change the router LAN IP to 192.168.2.1 and consequently your LAN IP will be in the range of 192.168.2.2 till 192.168.2.xxx.
2nd. If you want to see your modem GUI then you have to create a vlan (virtual lan) in order to trespass the router firewall from outside (modem) to inside (your LAN). Write these lines into de Administration/script/firewall Tab and then SAVE and Reboot the router for the changes to be efective.

/usr/sbin/iptables -I POSTROUTING -t nat -o vlan1 -d 192.168.1.0/24 -j MASQUERADE
ip addr add 192.168.1.2/24 dev vlan1 brd +

That's it, simple and basic to access bidirectional devices out of your LAN
