OLAAAA!!
Hi Folks, Im Joyining the club smile.gif

I flashed my wrt54GL 10 minutes ago and it works flawless.
Here is my setup:

WRT54GL v1.1
He is configured on static IP and connected on internet through WAN port

Can I configure this firmware to work like this:

Every known MAC address (connected to LAN or wireless) limit bandwidth speed to 5/1 Mbit, and every unknown MAC address limit to 2/0,5 Megabit?

is this possible, and if it is, how to do this?

I dont know any other way to know. You or somebody who work in shop(offcourse if you are not buying from online shop) must open the box and see the sticker. Thats the only way I know.

You can not be wrong with WRT54GL. There are only 2 versions of WRT54GL(v1.0 and v1.1). They work 100%

re-queen I think this is what I need

You could set an Access Restriction with:
"All Day" and "Everyday" and "Block All Internet Access" with
"Applies To All Except" and set the MAC's that are permitted access.

I think this would prevent unknown MAC's from using the system.

next question, i write it on linksysinfo forums too smile.gif

Next Question after I explain my newest situation:

DHCP is configured to give IP from 192.168.1.151 to 192.168.1.199 . I have a PC connected to routers LANport 4. In router I write his MAC address. In static DHCP I put his MAC address to give him IP 192.168.1.156 .
I put 192.168.1.156 in IP/MAC BW Limit to have 2down/0,5up megabits. And this is work for me.
When I say work, it works when that PC LAN adapter is at "Obtain network settings automatically" , restrictions work on that IP (192.168.1.156)
But when I write a manual IP settings on that PC LAN adapter, for example 192.168.1.200, subnet, and gateway ip ( routers IP 192.168.1.22) and DNS , restrictions seems to be inaccurate.
Then this PC download 3-4 Megabits.
How can I restrict his speed with MAC adress, not a IP address?

I tryed to do all things from start (after Erase all data in NVRAM) but with no success.

I do it just like red queen say:

static DHCP: "This MAC>192.168.1.156" - OK, work
IP/MAC BW Limit: "192.168.1.156>2dn/0,5up" - OK, work
enable ARP Binding: "This MAC>192.168.1.156" - not ok, no work
When i put manual IP settings on that pc LAN adapter (for example 192.168.1.222) he goes to internet, he escape restriction, he is downloading full speed. Arp binding is not forceing anything.

Thats my problem.

Is this working at yours roters folks?

ohhh.. now is OK. Thanks red-queen smile.gif Thanks to the sky smile.gif

when limit unlisted machines checked in ARP Binding, do I have to use this:

You could set an Access Restriction with:
"All Day" and "Everyday" and "Block All Internet Access" with
"Applies To All Except" and set the MAC's that are permitted access.

i think answer is NO, but you will confirm smile.gif

Second question:
When using static dhcp like in this situation, can i turn off DHCP (Basic>Network>DHCP>uncheck)?

Third question:
Are u using ND firmware smile.gif ?

Last night I had similar situation, but i leaved qos enabled. After 2-3 hours after I setup router and reboot ping went back to normal, and I leaved qos enabled. Now is still Ok. I play Call of duty 2.

Enable it again and leave it enabled couple of hours, and test it again.

red-queen thanks for the answers.

Now is everything ok with my setup, everything that I wanted is working.

Ill test off DHCP some other day, and write here a results. smile.gif

Red-Queen, one more time, thanks for everything smile.gif

Cheers m8

I used ddwrt 2-3 years. I needed ip bandwidth limitation which is only available in professional version.
I pay for and tryed DD-WRT special firmwre, (3-4 versions) of professional firmware.

And guess what?? Its not working!!! shakehead.gif

I pay 16 euro for something that is not work sad.gif . My bad cry.gif

Professional firmware act just like a free ddwrt. Dont let them to take your money like they did to me!

I was asking for help on "Broadcom Customer Downloads & Updates" but they dont give a fcuk! This section of forum can read and write only members which pay for professional firmware. Ofcourse that I expected support for something that I pay for.

I fill form on ddwrt shop site and asked for what I payed for?
They reply after 2 days and just say: We will check this issue and let you know about the results.

And I waited 7 days, then i googleed and find this sir Victek's masterpiece.

mail come to my inbox at 12/14/09 9:44 PM , today is 30.12.2009 , still no answer

1. from basic>device list copy all 6 mac adresses
2. paste them (mac adresses) to basic>static DHCP and give 6 ip adresses
3. paste mac adresses to IP/MAC BW LimitER>ARP Binding and write same 6 ip adresses from static DHCP. Check Enable ARP Binding, Check Limit Unlisted Machines
4. You already configured IP/MAC BW LimitER>IP/MAC BW Limit

The cable from the modem is connected to the internet port of the WRT54GL.
if this is the case, why did you then put Wan/internet on disable???

1.Put your modem in Bridge mode
2.Put Router wan/internet on PPPoE and type username and password in router
3.try now
