tx and rx is trasmiting and receiving right? transmit means upload and while receiving should be download right?
but why in d bandwidth page my tx is higher den rx and i am dling fullspeed? or i misunderstood the tx rx meaning? like i am dling 150kb/s and my transmiting showing 150kb/s and receiving show 20kb/s or it should imply i transmit to router 20kb/s and dling from it 150kb/s so tx and rx is from router and not from internet? |

It turns out tomato speed mod without ARP binding works hell lot better than victek's, the arp binding halts the network with some delay especially when gaming although the speed cap is working.

I just followed the guide from bsb85my and it worked, however, maybe I've missed it, but no one mentions about changing your modem NETMASK to 255.255.0.0 so that it can support your router IP which is 192.168.1.1.also want to know, how to QoS LAN, mean i want allowed user (LAN / Ethernet ) sharing my file/movie/music just max 200kbs tranfer rate from my computer, thanks |

Hi!
I'm having trouble setting up the BW limiter. I have a WRT54GL connected (ip 10.0.0.2) to a modem which has an ip 10.0.0.1 and has DHCP disabled. The rest of my network is behind the WRT54GL. The cable from the modem is connected to the internet port of the WRT54GL. I cannot seem to limit download speed no matter what I do. Here is my setup, and I would be very happy if someone could help me Maybe the setup from modem -> WRT54GL is wrong? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by eg1l: Mar 22 2010, 08:32 AM |

QUOTE(eg1l @ Mar 22 2010, 08:31 AM) The cable from the modem is connected to the internet port of the WRT54GL. if this is the case, why did you then put Wan/internet on disable???1.Put your modem in Bridge mode 2.Put Router wan/internet on PPPoE and type username and password in router 3.try now This post has been edited by Armand1234: Mar 23 2010, 12:53 AM |

That is the problem. The modem uses PPPoA, and there is no way to set it to bridge mode.
However, I can set a port to DMZ and connect the WRT54GL to that port, but it would still be the same. What if I put the lan interface on the modem and the WRT54GL to be on a different subnet? Say Modem: 10.0.1.1 WRT54GL wan: 10.0.1.2 WRT54GL lan: 10.0.0.1 Would this do the trick? |
