I think everything is ok, but you will confirm is it. red-queen are u using ND firmware, or regular?

so base on your configuration, you are doing the arp binding for 192.168.1.110.

i see that you do not have limit unlisted machines checked. please check this.

then try to change the ip address for 192.167.1.110 to something else. then try again. let me know.

ohhh.. now is OK. Thanks red-queen smile.gif Thanks to the sky smile.gif

when limit unlisted machines checked in ARP Binding, do I have to use this:

You could set an Access Restriction with:
"All Day" and "Everyday" and "Block All Internet Access" with
"Applies To All Except" and set the MAC's that are permitted access.

i think answer is NO, but you will confirm smile.gif

Second question:
When using static dhcp like in this situation, can i turn off DHCP (Basic>Network>DHCP>uncheck)?

Third question:
Are u using ND firmware smile.gif ?

No need to use access restriction anymore as it will be counter productive.

I'm not sure if you can disable dhcp when using static only. Why don't you give it a try?

I'm using the normal version. I heard ND is less stable.

hi, because of some bad experience of using QOS, i have a long time for qos disabling in my router.

i read about a config of QOS today, so i re- set the qos and make my counter strike port to highest.

and run a test, boom!

high ping!

after i switch it off . and all went normal and low ping.
what is the problem?

Last night I had similar situation, but i leaved qos enabled. After 2-3 hours after I setup router and reboot ping went back to normal, and I leaved qos enabled. Now is still Ok. I play Call of duty 2.

Enable it again and leave it enabled couple of hours, and test it again.

red-queen thanks for the answers.

Now is everything ok with my setup, everything that I wanted is working.

Ill test off DHCP some other day, and write here a results. smile.gif

Red-Queen, one more time, thanks for everything smile.gif

When you say ping high, does it make your cs lag? Or just ping high? You can try to check prioritize icmp ping.

And also we need more details on what you have configured. I don't know what exactly did you configure, hence I can't advise more.

Would be good if you can do a screenshot of the qos basic config and qos prioritization config.

Flash player uses another port 1395 , if i am not mistaken

If it fails to connect at that port , it will fall back to HTTPS (443) , if thats not working , it will use port 80. By default it prefers 1395 !

for me, i never used IPP2P and Layer7 for classification cause nowadays, most torrent just doesn't get caught using it.

it's better to use port to capture. hence, it's always better to set the default class to lowest. then only capture important applications with their respective known ports.

for your scenario...i'll only capture CS, flash, http web, and dns. set default class to lowest and ur bittorents will get captured there.

in QoS basic settings. check Prioritize ICMP.

I used the Victek mod to get the BW limiter but I find it doesn't release spare BW to the most limited user

Similar problems with QoS, but had those with the original Tomato version

Today QoS is causing a red light on the router and even a crash

Looking forward to Victek's Tomato 1.27 version

your screen shot is self explanatory. in your classification you set dst port to catch your flying spaghetti monster ports.

but the router is detecting the port as src port. hence, it doesn't catch it. what you need to do is edit the configuration of your classification for flying spaghetti monster. change the dst port 1513-1517 to src port instead.

i think that you're actually connected to the internet. just that you did not specify a dns server, hence you won't be able to surf the net.

please set dns servers in your static dns configuration.

you can use opendns, google dns, or even tmnut's dns.

your WRT54GL is not an ADSL modem, hence it won't be able to show you your ADSL status and also your VPC/VCI status.

maybe you can try to hook up your pc directly to your modem and try to dial and see if it works.
