may i know why at the QOS (inbound) only have the limit option while at the outbound got rate & limit option... i wish got rate/limit option at inbound setting too...  notworthy.gif
*
Cause slow surfing is caused by ACK resolving at outbound.. I don't care inbound wink.gif .. read QoS how to at linksysinfo.org Tomato forum.

Ok. 1 more question:

anywone know how do i change the size of this entries to the max size?????

Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.info kernel: Dentry cache hash table entries: 4096 (order: 3, 32768 bytes)
Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.info kernel: Inode cache hash table entries: 2048 (order: 2, 16384 bytes)
Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.warn kernel: Mount-cache hash table entries: 512 (order: 0, 4096 bytes)
Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.warn kernel: Buffer-cache hash table entries: 1024 (order: 0, 4096 bytes)
Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.warn kernel: Page-cache hash table entries: 8192
Jan  1 00:00:09 R-fox user.info kernel: (order: 3, 32768 bytes)
*
You need enough free memory in your page size defined when mounting the kernel and build compilation... take source code and work for it but be careful to maintain the right ratio, the most important is the resumed hash table, others are the son of the last result. I extended hash table up to 8192 tracking connection with a ported 2.4.35 linux kernel, enough for one individual and for a comunity with the right repartition using QoS or IP/MAC limiter TCP/UDP connection limit.

i having some problem for setup the wds on bufallo router.
the router working well when i select ap+wds.
but when i select the wds mode, the lan network working well, but the wireless will down.(means the adapter cannot detect the wifi)

Added on February 5, 2009, 10:29 pmabout the qos problems, please see my sample. before the qos enable, i reset to factory setting. and i do nothing to the qos setting but only enable and fill in the speed limit.

here is a screenshot before and after.
as you can see , both testing also show a drop down speed.
*
I don't know what you mean, sorry, If you enabled the QoS there are some rules already defined, so, it will affect the test you show ...

is there any setting to enable PPPoE Passthrough? i cant find it in any setting/option in the firmware.
*
No, smile.gif , we are talking about a neutral router, so.. why do you expect that one router without dsl modem will offer you pppoe passthrough? ... Essentially this feature enables an rfc1483 bridge mode in the modem so the PPPoE process occurs in the connected device, eg a firewall router or one PC. The router can't handle it.

Hi, is there a way to assign the WAN port to the same vlan with the 4 LAN ports? Like what you can do in DD-WRT.
*
Yes, there is one way, but out of this thread of Tomato, it is a help forum, not a laboratory brows.gif

Prasys,
For bandwidth monitoring ... Administration/Bandwidth Monitoring .. and you can select where do you want to keep your data:
RAM
NVRAM
CIFS 1
CIFS 2
JFFS2
Or any customized path ..like the IP of your PC and the path ..

The frequency of data export can be also fixed.. every hour, 2 hour, one week, one month..

For SNMP ... Administration/Syslog .. tick Log to Remote System and select the frequency and the kind of events you want to monitor... then use a more convenient tool like Syslog Watcher in your PC (using UDP port 514) and that's all.

Cheers wink.gif

how do block wan access , but still allow wifi client.
*
Go to Access restriction and create a rule for the clients you want to restrict Internet access (tick this option), then LAN/WLAN traffic is permited, WAN traffic is blocked.

I am wondering in OpenWRT , its possible for people to have more then 1 AP (i.e 1 AP for Guest and 1 AP for normal users). I just want to ask if its possible for you to do that !

P.S - Victek , Tu eliges

Hi prasys, no doubt, OpenWRT is the right answer... but .. wait a while .. you will see some interesting news in next RAF release ... rclxm9.gif

IcEMoCHa, hehe, you got it .. yes, passive mode and new wireless Auto channel set the best channel for your wireless environment.. this is the reason why Tomato is more convenient for non skill people playing wireless channel and interferences ... the target is to have a firmware for dummies. Don't misunderstand my words, I mean.. easy to set, ready to go. icon_idea.gif

developer , working in your request .. will add reset button disabled option in administration screen... but a silly question, how will you enter in your router if you forgot your password? ..... funny... Use the SES front button and select 'Reset to default', then after you pressed continously for more than N seconds reset is done, is ok for you? whistling.gif

If your Internet account gives you more than 50Mb speed, then use 1.28.121006
If you have problems with WDS mode then use 1.28.8515 ND
If you're a stronger P2P user then use 1.28.8617

Thank you for the feedback, two clarifications:

Versions based on K2.6 are TeddyBear version with RAF mods only affects to IP/MAC limiter, As already stated in linksysinfo.org WRT54GL is an old unit to handle K2.6 kernel, Bandwidth is poor with K2.6 ... but people asked to shift to K2.6

Version 1.28.121006 is based in the previous RAF version updated, so, I appreciate your comment, this version is based in 2.4.20 kernel, then the CPU usage is more reasonable and more convinient for heavy P2P.

Show the top process and P2P values (conntrack_ct) in your router to fix your statement about 'extremely unstable', then you can help in a more positive way nod.gif , but I'm sure Tomato RAF 1.28.121006 is the right version for you.

I'm pretty sure it's TeddyBear mod being unable to handle the 1000? or so concurrent connections.

I don't think so... TB is doing a good job in USB releases, might be he forgot something about conntrack but I don't think so...

Also, my buddy has the WRT54GS, he's currently running on 1.25.8515.2. Would he be ok to upgrade to 1.28.121006 as well?

Sure, it's a right decision, even more estable than 8515.2 ...

Hi Victek, I'm using Asus WL500gP v1 with Tomato 1.25....

so which Tomato 1.28 I should go for, without VPN and USB?
*
Without USB? ... Why? ... anyway, it's your beer ...

Then I would recommend you Tomato_RAF_1.28.121006 very, very stable w/o USB and VPN but.. your router has plenty of capacity to run Tomato-RAF-1.28.8525_VPN.7z (with USB (Samba, Printer Server, FTP, DLNA & VPN)), .. CPU is faster than WRT54GL..

*
You can flash with Tomato RAF 1.28.121006 (standar with kernel 2.4.20) .. but please try also 1.28.8618 (kernel 2.6 Mipsr1)
