huh? it's two different things. different creator.
m2 from sony and SDcard i dont know who create. its like blu ray VS HD-dvd. basically, its just the same. maybe you will argue about speed or wutsoever. but the main point,it's only for consumer to store files/pics/mp3/p0rn in their portable devices etc etc This post has been edited by sani_othman: Jun 20 2008, 07:15 AM |

QUOTE(JonnY @ Jun 20 2008, 06:33 AM) This question come into my mind suddenly. Anyone know what is the difference between this 2? Which 1 is better? they are called flash memory of different format.micro SD is the smallest form of SD card originally developed by sandisk and few other makers whereas m2 is the smallest form of memory stick by Sony. historically, SD was made to compete with sony MS. and nowadays, different device use different format. e.g. SE phones use mostly sony memory stick whereas nokia, samsung and few more adopt the SD format. weirdly enough, SE k850i can take both m2 and microSD. in term of size, micro sd is slightly smaller than m2. in term of usability, micro sd is more widely used, m2 and ms is usually retained in sony devices only. |

M2 speed : Write 3MB/sec Read 10MB/sec
MicroSD : Class 2 / Class 4 / Class 6 meaning sustainable MB/sec transfer as in 2MB / 4MB / 6MB microSD is the way to go. M2 sooner or later will be ditched! |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Jun 21 2008, 12:37 AM) M2 speed : Write 3MB/sec Read 10MB/sec dont think so. Sony will not ditch that. people going for Sony devices, have no choice but to use their own memory card.MicroSD : Class 2 / Class 4 / Class 6 meaning sustainable MB/sec transfer as in 2MB / 4MB / 6MB microSD is the way to go. M2 sooner or later will be ditched! but i would go for microSD too, it is very universal for a lot of devices. |

so, it means that only sony devices can use M2 and others can't?
Is it real that micro is faster than M2? I see from an article that it is slower than M2 for write speed. |
