me around 16km/l for stop n go traffic.... wow RM72 full tank at 1 bar blinking..

for me RM20 still could bring me to batu pahat from melaka..

proud to be part of the family.

Added on July 1, 2008, 11:18 amsaw some sediments on my coolant expansion tank...

sillicate buidup at the hose joints...bad sign..

DO not ever follow the manual, better flush @ clean the system yearly even it's a close circuit one.
*
16km/L on stop & go traffic is very good already.

Hmmm sediments hmm.gif . I'm not sure about Savvy coolant spec, but I know Toyota Super Coolant (RM18/Litre) with 50-50 mixture of clean water are quite good - could last very long without sediments. Maybe could get few bottles and use it? If it works, good for the engine though.

AFAIK, I've tried other brands, some are "green", some are "white"... but after few days, they all become brown with sediments. This Toyota one maintain as new as 1st use (red color) even after a year.

HOAT coolant is pretty expensive, that toyota coolant is cheap for it's price. Caltex Long Life is RM16.50 per 500ml, sold in Jusco coolant made by a local company Maximilin is around RM32 for 1.2L (more expensive yellow type one). Use only distilled water - tap water could cause heavy sediment in long term.
*
I tried the yellow (like highlighter yellow) type one before, turns brown quite fast. HOAT never heard before. Toyota coolant is expensive when buy in accessory shop (around RM38), where you can get it at RM18 through genuine parts Toyota dealer. No idea whether Toyota one's could use in Savvy.

b. I read so many complains abt the AMT gear box problem, so am thinking to go for the manual variant, but really like the idea of AMT. Is the 2008 AMT has most these gear problem fixed?

Go SAVOC and read more.

They usually inflate the tires higher than rated. Sometimes this also happen after service your car, they check tires pressure and pump in extra again.

I usually pump 5~10kPa more - eg. rated is 220, I pump 230.

Eh... since when Savvy got I/white? I though that is solid white.

Depends on what kind of manual that is. I've tried manual on Peroduas, Protons, Toyotas, Hondas... the best manual gear shift is still KE70. Even better than ViosJ manual.

hypermount, is there some statistic for 'number of AMT' vs 'number of AMT problem'?

grip will depend on the tyre width
width bigger =  more grip, more friction

tyre thickness will make ride more comfortable
thicker = more comfort, more bouncy, less confidence when cornering
*
width bigger also = less surface pressure on the road. not really good for wet road.

Coz Savvy owners so far no complaints about their car in terms of Reliability, Maintenance and Ride/Handling.  Most of them actually sing praises to their Savvy.  This is 100% contrary to SAVVY BASHERS in Autoworld.
*
Reliability through obscurity? I almost booked Savvy AMT last year, until I survey my relatives & friends that 1st hand own Savvy and, even tried to discount/ignore those problem stated in forums - i.e. only real life owner face to face survey.

Even now I still have the urge to get one AMT play play... even then those problems never ends but I still keep surveying until I'm convinced to get one. Salute to those with a good Savvy, they are really the lucky ones.

p/s: One LYN already sold off his few months old Savvy around 25~27k just because of 'unfixable' problem keep occuring.

You guys really indulge in "GROUPTHINK" too much...  Shut out outsiders KAU KAU...
*
Well, that's the basic behaviour in LYN F&F.

I'm almost similar to you but, I'm for convincing myself to get one AMT... I'm still far from convinced.

hypermount, the AMT manual links, maybe it's a good idea to put it in the front page.

Anybody here has a clear line cut on the problem fixed from 2007 to 2008 model?

I also test drove the 1st batch AMT from one of SA cars, no problem, smooth and I like it. But surfing around and asking around my circle of friends who owned it push me back from getting one. sad.gif

What are their comments for you?

Generally, they are: Keep going back to SC; Fix this & that; Loads of problem. Specific ones would be the AMT erratic random behavior. rclxub.gif

For me it might be 'old' manufacturing defects + cut throat lousy SC.

So I'm now more interested in knowing new AMT models' conditions and I missed the metallic grey color.

Just 1 day only, of course no problem. Wait more days to come. If no problem then good.

I'm hoping for more similar positive cases.
