QUOTE(gary_cheah85 @ Oct 6 2008, 11:39 PM) Proton Savvy fuel tank capacity is 40 liters I don't believe this, to be honest. I get an average 13-14km/l. My savvy starts the fuel blink light at ~350km, and I will travel normall about until ~400km then only pump petrol -- and only 29-30l will be able to go in. Also in theory I should be able to go 530-540 km on a full tank ... YEAH RIGHT. The one and only time I decided to go by the theory, by 480 km ran out of gas and had to call a friend to go buy petrol for me.

QUOTE(gary_cheah85 @ Nov 24 2008, 11:16 PM) manufacturer specs says it is 40l so accept it lah anyway 40-36 = 4litres is only a small amount, and u cant really go very far Accepting the manufacturer specs caused me to first-hand experience running out of fuel at the side of the road for the first time in my life, so you can go ahead and believe their specs, and I'll believe my own experience. 4litres with our car at normal driving can go 60 km ... 60km can consider not far?

QUOTE(Jeff_lwh @ Nov 25 2008, 12:41 AM) Coz Savvy owners so far no complaints about their car in terms of Reliability, My Savvy has been in the workshop more than 5 times for non-routine fixing of problems. Aircon pipe burst & leaked water into the cabin. Front absorber heads faulty Faulty ignition coil Water pump leaking Faulty throttle body CD player jam (ok fine this isn't really a car problem but I had to bring it to COE to fix regardless)

QUOTE(Junyen @ Nov 27 2008, 03:55 PM) anyone know when the fuel warning starts... we still have approximately how many liters? For me once my fuel warning light comes on, I will go another 70-80km before filling petrol.

How on earth are you guys getting such high km/l?
For me I very very rarely get stuck in traffic. 95% of my driving is highway or regular town driving, and my overall average is always 13-14km/l only. Is it a heavier right foot issue?

Hmm I just did a 12.86 km/l tank. In the last few days I don't remember getting into any traffic jam. So it was city driving & highway only, and the occasional heavy right foot.
12.86! Why so low? T_T

QUOTE(hypermount) How is ur driving style? Hrm well I normally pull all gears to 4k rpm before switching, lol. So yes my driving style is not an economical driving style. But still, your 488km for rm46 i.e. 24 litres is roughly 20.2 km/l, or more than half more economical than mine ... does having a heavy right foot really cost me 7+ km/l? Incidentally 20.2km/l is 47.4 mpg (american). That's more or less exactly what a Prius is rated for -- 48mpg on the highway. Added on December 8, 2008, 3:38 pmQUOTE(lj0000 @ Dec 8 2008, 02:35 PM) hyper..rm50 at rm1.90 or rm2.00? lets say at rm2.00 means 20liter bro, maths koyak sikit. rm50 @ rm2/litre means 25 liter, not 20 liter This post has been edited by deodorant: Dec 8 2008, 03:38 PM

Meh the thing is, there's like no torque below 3k, so to make reasonable progress you have to tarik at 3k+

QUOTE(Thunder_Bolt @ Dec 13 2008, 02:58 PM) One question, when you open the doors, will the double signal lights being turned on automatically for around 10 seconds? is this something to do with the alarm? how to disable that? It's normal. As far as I know you can't disable. There was once on the highway my blinkers came on for no reason (at first I thought it was no reason la hehe) then I realized what was actually going on, stopped at the side to close the boot

Er, no and no.
It's a single clutch, not double. And there is no torque converter, torque converter = automatic.

QUOTE(padisawah @ Dec 20 2008, 10:03 AM) may i know the difference/purpose of between K&N air filter injection kit and Hotbits injection kit heat-shield? and hotbits doesn't have muffler for savvy or the rear section is actually the muffler? sorry i am noob in car-modifying field The air filter injection kit is the cone air filter thing. The heat shield is that aluminium thing that keeps the heat of the engine away from the air that is taken in. Honestly rm280 for the heat shield is a f*cking rip-off. All it is is two normal aluminium sheets cut to fit the inside. [edit] No la, hotbits got muffler also. Whole exhaust is basically extractor (the part that attaches to the engine), mid-section (the mid-piping under the car including bullet or cat converter) and the rear-section (muffler). If you got the R3 muffler you can just buy the extractor+mid section from hotbits as I believe it's made to attach to the R3 muffler. This post has been edited by deodorant: Dec 21 2008, 01:15 AM

Hmm I've noticed that Shell V-Power gives a noticeably higher km/l than normal Shell. My last V-Power tank gave me a 14.5 km/l which is about a 8% increase than my average mileage.
Of course, the price of V-Power is also much more expensive la, hehe.

QUOTE(Junyen @ Dec 24 2008, 07:57 PM) So... is it worth the price? No. cos normal petrol is 1.80 now, but v-power is still rm 2.00+++ (cant' remember exactly how much). It's only worth it if the difference is less than 15sen.

QUOTE(davidmu @ Dec 27 2008, 05:53 PM) If I able to buy a 2nd car, I choose Satria NEO, cause feeling a bit same like savvy also, that's handling well... Hmm, Neo handles better imo. I've track-day'ed my Savvy & a friend's Neo @ Sepang quite often in the past, the Neo has better grip, slightly better feedback from the steering and it's easier to catch slides before they get out of hand. Of course, the Neo is also quite a bit more expensive, so can't compare la

Mmm, just got back from Penang, 400+km's on the tripmeter and still 2bars of fuel in the tank.
Noticed that 120km/h on the speedo is only actually 115km/h though (verified by GPS unit), so 160km/h speedo is probably only 150-ish.

QUOTE(ChelseaFan @ Feb 26 2009, 08:43 AM) 1) 2005 - <rm20,000 lol, I still have almost 30k on my loan amount outstanding. So if I want to change my Savvy need to top up almost 10k to cover =_=;; Anyway I'm a bit worried about my gearbox, it's starting to have a light "grinding" noise. It's not a very loud grinding but u can definitely hear something is not quite right about it sigh the car is starting to fall apart, lol.

aha! new savvy has 74 hp at the crank, right? Assuming 15% drivetrain loss, that's about 63 hp at the wheels. Well ... my almost 4-year-old Savvy has ... dun dun dun ... FORTY-SIX! The 1-100 time stinks too. Attached thumbnail(s)

Hmm I don't notice the clutch is hard. Except after traffic jam for 30minutes+, then I'll start thinking sh*t I should have gotten an AMT or auto tranny car.
@LYR buy Saga imo.
