I believe not only Casino Royale is much better than Quantum Soalce, but even Dr No is better than Quantum Solace. Quantum Solace storyline is weak... Bond character is so unprofessional... and as this is supoosed to be the second movie, at least Bond should have some gadgets to help him overcome people...

and also Quantum Solace made Casino Royale seems incomplete... (though I understand trilogy concept etc).... but at least, Quantum Solace should start after the attempt on M's life at the start of the movie....

those who want to watch this movie, think twice....

if you give this 8/10, i can conclude that you have never seen all the bond movies....

because if you have seen all the bond movies, this movies doesn't even pass 4.5 on the scale of 1-10.

the answer is because you've seen only "most" and not "all"

i've seen all.... and trust me, qos is way below par, new formula or not....
granted, that the basis story is that in casino royal and qos, bond has just been promoted to 00 status
but that's no excuse to chop everything good and tested from the old formula....

with gadgets or not, bond is supposed to be a cool-headed spy, not goes around flashing his license to kill

and what is with this stand-on-her-own bond-girl...
it makes to the story too crowded...

however, what i like is the meeting scene of the baddies... that's newand original... no meeting room, no round table...

i don't recommend people to watch this movie, unless for people like me who have seen all bond movies and wishes to keep track of the bond-world development...

hopefully for a better bond the next time around...

know this.... viewer of "most-bond-movies".... this is not the first time anger and revenge has clouded the normally cool james bond...
in movies, it "was licence to kill" (and this particular bond movie, with the same anger and revenge theme, is 1000 times better than qos)
in books, there were so many other times bond was not so cool, especially after Tracy was murdered....

and about the third movie.... your statement about the third movie clearly shows your depth (or lack of it) about actor playing james bond...
i tell you a secret.... they usually signed for more than one movies... not one at a time.... (i have to re-check about george lazenby.... i forgot why there were no 2nd movies.... one reason say that he was most un-cool of james bond... slapping girls and all....)

so, in the mean time, go watch the remaining 20% eh....
