does the routers need frequently to reboot itself (Keep Alive - Schedule Reboot) to clear its resources after some operations time?

I thought that OSS (*nix) doesn't need frequent reboot & it was designed not to reboot very frequent.

Even my Aztech 600EW can't last until 1 month 24/7 running no problem until it mess-up the DNS & had to be rebooted.

My WRT54Gv7 stock FW (of course stock - no 3rd party supported) around 2 weeks 24/7 operation - need to reboot because Web GUI cannot be logon...

- both router were located in my room & no special mod to install heatsink/fat whatsoever added - just plain stock. Maybe because i don't do torrent or p2p. hurmmm...

Just got my WRT54GL with v24 sp1 special today...1 time setup need to reboot several times - that was ok, hoping this router will be stable as previous 1

yes as i mentioned earlier... there is no issues regarding my new wrt54gl...

my concern is - as i can see ppl keep on saying that "the need to set keep alive for rebooting etc etc" - is it true?

I got one DIR-300 with 24/7 p2p on DD-WRT v24 SP1.. average around 3 days then web interface cannot login already..

so i set it to auto reboot every day midnight.. now running smooth

Guys, i just bought a linksys wrt54g version 7 with atheros chipset instead of broadcom. Anything that i can do ? J

One more question ,does linksys provide 3 years warranty for this product ?

Oh just get it from a lowyat forumer, he sell me for Rm110, i thought it was a bargain. It is a open box unit. Can consider new. Cause just open and test only.
But anyway i'm getting this for my gf. But i just found out this thread ! But nvm .... if cannot then have 2 stick with this version 7.
My gf only know how to msn and friendster only. The rest i think she wont touch. So i think this is more then enuf since she just want 2 use the wireless in her house.
Another question is linksys provide 3 years manufacture warranty for this ? So if my router strike by lightning the guy from linksys will give me back same version 7 or the newer version ? Just want 2 ask ... guys please help 2 share ur xp here ! Thanks !

im using wrt54gl wif DD-WRT V23 SP2 if not mistaken....

i'm trying to jump into x86 version of dd-wrt. initial goal is to set-up dual-band wifi system which utilizes 5Ghz (11a band) for wireless backbone and normal 2.4Ghz (11b/g band) to serve wireless client.
