QUOTE(NtahX @ Oct 13 2008, 09:08 PM) does the routers need frequently to reboot itself (Keep Alive - Schedule Reboot) to clear its resources after some operations time? U bought the WRT54GL with v24 sp1 special is new or 2nd hand? I thought that OSS (*nix) doesn't need frequent reboot & it was designed not to reboot very frequent. Even my Aztech 600EW can't last until 1 month 24/7 running no problem until it mess-up the DNS & had to be rebooted. My WRT54Gv7 stock FW (of course stock - no 3rd party supported) around 2 weeks 24/7 operation - need to reboot because Web GUI cannot be logon... - both router were located in my room & no special mod to install heatsink/fat whatsoever added - just plain stock. Maybe because i don't do torrent or p2p. hurmmm... Just got my WRT54GL with v24 sp1 special today...1 time setup need to reboot several times - that was ok, hoping this router will be stable as previous 1 -- $ uptime 12:54PM up 484 days, 6:47, 1 users, load averages: 0.09, 0.08, 0.07 For my assumption if it is new should be no problem. My personal opinion the DD-WRT is far more stable than default firmware. |

QUOTE(NtahX @ Oct 13 2008, 10:20 PM) New... What i can say is... i think no need, unless u're running lots of DHCP users or lots of connection (p2p)yes as i mentioned earlier... there is no issues regarding my new wrt54gl... my concern is - as i can see ppl keep on saying that "the need to set keep alive for rebooting etc etc" - is it true? but as u say... u dun p2p... i think should be no problem. Cuz im using DIR-300 with DD-WRT v24 beta, running as smooth as silk... |

Cause just open and test only. Lightning struck cannot claim oh... Unless u got some method to spoil it without burning the ic...But anyway i'm getting this for my gf. But i just found out this thread ! But nvm .... if cannot then have 2 stick with this version 7. My gf only know how to msn and friendster only. The rest i think she wont touch. QUOTE(Togepy @ Oct 31 2008, 04:32 PM) hi, do you guys face frequent msn dc or always leave from chatroom?? Sometimes this is not the router's problem. any solution for tis?? not sure whether its the firmwware or connection problem... but im sure its not dc from internet coz my ip is still the same and my game still runs well... im using wrt54gl wif DD-WRT V23 SP2 if not mistaken.... Few factors for this 1. U're downloading at high speed, using 90-99% of ur bandwidth at that moment. 2. Ur connection is not efficient, ping loss. 3. MSN network has problems. Personally i do have the msn dc very frequently when im downloading at high speed... |

@Togepy
If u're using dd-wrt firmware at the moment. There's no need to revert back. U can juz firmware upgrade at the Administration page Guys... currently im using DIR-300 with dd-wrt, izzit possible for me to create another public wifi which can only get connected to the router as Local Area Network where it is not possible to use the Internet? |
