Hi to dd-wrt sifus,

I'm junior dd-wrt user only not technie, currently flashed dd-wrt on Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N & WHR-G300N for Streamyx.

I'll be changing to UniFi next week, just want to know has anyone managed to replace the TM's DIR-615 router with other router with dd-wrt and the IPTV still working ?

I really want to replace that TM's DIR-615, hope some sifu here can share some experience and how to setup & configure dd-wrt for UniFi.

Thanks in advance ! notworthy.gif

You'll want a router that fully supports DD-WRT, a broadcom hardware based router. This will enable you to use the features VLAN ports and tagging in order to replace TM's DIR-615 router. Internet uses VLAN 500 and IPTV uses VLAN 600.
Must it be a Broadcom base router?
Are you current using one which replace the TM's DIR-615 with IPTV working?
Appreciate if you could show the detail configuration, thanks in advance!
My current Buffalo is Antheros & RaLink, if it's true, then I may have to consider getting ASUS RT-N12 or RT-N16 ....

I've been trying to setup Broadcom base dd-wrt routers to connect UniFi, unfortunately the "WAN port assignment" which suppose to tag with VLAN?.500 is gone once re-boot, PPPoE unable to connect at al.....
Managed to get Ralink & Atheros connect at VLAN?.500, but still don't know how to configure IPTV at VLAN?.600
Any dd-wrt sifu here can help? icon_question.gif notworthy.gif

Bro, seem like you are also interested in dd-wrt liao ah ... tongue.gif
I don't think dd-wrt support Aztech, cannot even find a single model from:

May I know your purpose?

Btw, this forum is rather quiet ..... unsure.gif

I got this router for free from a friend. It is because that router is soo junk with its original firmware. Other than basic use, you cannot rely on this for additional features, but hell, it is not in the list.  doh.gif

That's why your friend give you free lo tongue.gif

If you want to play with dd-wrt, just go get a TP-Link-941ND and flash it:

For other dd-wrt users, latest 26Sep10 BS built is out already:

I am actually considering D-link DIR-825. Still think about to buy or not since I didnt use wireless much. It seems that this Aztech is just sufficient for me.

Actually are you looking for something can vlan tagging with router capability for your UniFi?
How about RB750 or RB750G then?

Fyi, I'm in the process of setting it up, I found out it has a GUI base called WinBox which is quite user friendly to setup.
The IPTV can work now, I'm still working with "oreomambo" to get the internet working, stay-tune bro! icon_rolleyes.gif

Beware of TP-Link-941ND ver 3.2. It will have 2 types of flash according to my fren.
Intel flash are not able to save any configuration in DD-WRT.

Yes, I also mentioned that before:

So I assumed those v3.2 sold here does not have that Intel on board icon_rolleyes.gif

Soon i will get Biz UniFi packages and will max it out with dd-wrt

Currently RT-N16 is the best choice

Gigabit LAN and WiFi N router

Hi MX510,

Did you manage to create both vlan?500 (internet) & 600 (IPTV) for your UniFi on RT-16?
Currently I'm using MikroTik RB750, been on 3 weeks without any problem, but I just hope Broadcom base dd-wrt can perform the same since I have some old units around.
Appreciate some sharing here! nod.gif

Yes, I do notice Broadcom base is more stable for repeater on stock firmware.
I've tested the following Asus :
RT10
RT12
RT10+ (got it recently from LowYat at RM85)

It works well on stock firmware as repeater for my base unit which runs on dd-wrt Atheros (TP-Link 941DN) or Ralink (Buffalo WHR-G300N).
But somehow it doesn't really works well on repeater if flash with dd-wrt.

So far I have no problem creating vlan.500 tagging & assign to WAN port for Atheros & Ralink routers. For Broadcom base, I've tested on Asus RT-12 & Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, can create the vlan.500 tagging but unable to assign it to WAN port.

Did you use RT-16 for your Biz5 or you use the TM stock standard DIR-615?
If you use RT-16, can you create vlan.500 & assign to WAN port for the internet?
