hi, i've just gotten myself a linksys wrt54gl ver 1.1 and understands that it does support third party firmwares (like dd-wrt, etc). but i didnt know it doesnt have an internal adsl modem, so now should i get another cheap modem and stick with it or sell it off and get another wifi modem+router?

if i were to get another modem, which adsl modem should i get? any cheap modems will do?

thanks!

hi i would just like to know, the current stable version for dd-wrt is the v24 sp1 right? but when i go to the download page for linksys wrt54gl v1.1, (http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/stable/dd-wrt.v24%20SP1/Consumer/Linksys/WRT54GL_1.1/)

there is a list with alot of different types dd-wrt to download, mini, vintage, standard, mega, generic, etc, so which should i download? i cant find the one with wrt54gl name in it. i know the mega is not for me cuz my router only supports up till 4mb, should i download the generic one?

thanks!

wait, i just found out about tomato.... hmmm seems like more ppl have more good points towards tomato than dd-wrt...

ok.. will flash to tomato.
Does tomato QOS allow individual bandwidth allocation?
how about banning p2p all together? what i know is if i block the ports, they'll just change to another port and bypass it.

especially when they're using xunlei.. which is a bandwidth hogger..

you can try victek's tomato, they have that.
