Ampang waterfront got nice food meh!? i live 5 mins away..i dun go thr to eat. cos i dun think the food is nice, normal only. used to frequent oldtown but bored of the same old menu already.

maybe u want to visit naili's place nearby ampang point..the ambiance is very nice. dunno abt the food tho..i've only been to the branch at damansara, and i liked it thr.

tsim tung in pandan indah is ok ok only...its a bit expensive compared to other hong kong restaurants.

cheese naan kaya in steven's corner roxors. eat with pudina+bawang, wah damn nice. i'm craving for it now.

madam kwan ice cream, used to go thr every weekend..their food is good. but now i dunno cos i dun go thr anymore.

opposite steven's corner, thr r some noodle shops. got the famous Bao Bao pan mee and the spicy pan mee..also got the hakka noodle. to me the pan mee all taste the same la, just the chili flakes makes them nice only. i like the hakka mee, but some ppl dun...

Nearest LRT would be Pandan Jaya or Pandan Indah, quite close to Tesco Ampang. Walking distance , estimate would be 30minute hehehe.

The Seafood BBQ is near CAHAYA STAR LRT STATION although the area is cempaka.. Stop at Cahaya then walk up the bridge.. turn left and walk straight.. the restaurant is on the left.

There used to be a famous Naan stall opposite Ampang Point. The Tanduri Chicken is one of the best i had. It was like 3-4 years i did not manage to pay them a visit. The stall was manage by a lady with her son.

Jimmy is not bad....with ala thai style seafood.

Suzy Corner for steak.

The food is the yummiest iranian food so far. You can try the buttered rice with minced chicken. It's about RM18. Dinner for two together with a pot of iranian tea comes up to RM50

hey... why all donno what famous in Ampang? for chinese 1 sure is "Ampang Yong Tau Foo" ..la ,there are three restaurants serving delicious Yong Tau Foo in Ampang. Just drive down to Pekan Ampang one way street and you will see the row of restautants on your left. They are 'Ampang Homeland', 'Orchard View' and 'Fong Fong'. These three restaurants, side by side, separated by a small drain, offering a total of almost 150 tables, with seating capacity of nearly a 1000 people.

Yong tau foo is actually fish paste stuffed into items like smooth taufoo, ladies fingers, fried taufoo, chillies or sliced brinjals. You can also find them wrapped in thin soya skin (dumpling) which are then served in a soup or fried. The secret of the Ampang Yong Tau Foo is in the smooth white taufoo and the use good ikan parang (for the fish paste).

Besides Yong Tau Foo, these restaurants also serves 'deep fried chicken in wrapped paper' which goes well with the Yong Tau Foo. The Yong Tau Foo costs 70 cents a piece. Don't miss this delicious dishes when you come to Ampang. You will like it.

Opposite Balai Police Ampang there is a kopitiam selling chicken rice. Quite famous. I forget the shop name thou.

I highly recommend Pat Kin Pat Sun @ Tmn. Shamelin there food portion is large, not pricey & the taste of food is great! They served from Hong Kong style to Western. There is also steamboat. I recommend their claypot lou shu fun, tomyam soup, fried spaghetti, french toast & many many more .. as for drink.. try Ribena Soda

I just went to eat Yong Tau Foo at Fong Fong for my lunch with my gf!!!yummy...and the price was increased to 80 cent a piece!!!!

The best Ampang Yong Tau Fu is at the restaurant opposite On Pong Chinese School.

Really bored with Ampang YTF......whats good would depend on your taste buds. I tend to lean towards the Peel rd/Maluri one they still serve wild boar curry =P but they just changed their filling again...salt fish is too over powering.

I second the Iranian place in Ampwalk. Cant speak for the tea though. I used to frequent the deli France in Hock Choon for brekkie since they serve freshly baked bread real early.

The usual franchise foods usually suck compared to what the surrounding areas have to offer.

Taiwan noodle house hmmmmmmm you guys should try Korea town across the road. There is a place which serves ice noodles there. Forgot the name of the place.

Oh, if you are hankering for Japenese food Octupus first or second floor the shopping mall in ampang point. I usually eat there when I see the owner.....which is quite rare.

Ampang eats usually kopitiams. too long to list.

Order a Sabu sabu and a beef glass noodle
The foods were average and the chili was too spicy for my liking.

I tried Yoshinoyo ( i hope i spelt correctly) , the korean bbq is nice but i think a bit pricey..hehe, you need to barbeque(charcoal) the marinated meat yourself, the meat is delicious!

Madam Kwan Ice Cream House is located at Pandan Indah, its beside the Suzuki Showroom. The area whereby there is pasar malam on friday.

You should try the 'sang har yee mee' in pandan indah, same row with old town... it taste so good! awesome... the shop called - something to do with 9.. haha, dunno is 9 shu tou or 9 siu... sumthing like that...

The price is awesome too. Fourty something for a single person plate.
The shop name is 9 siu (ninth brother).

The sang har meen has a long history in KL and you can find it in Friedchillies forum.
This 9 siu is part of them.

did anyone mention suzie's? the steak syiok..mamak also ok..i lepak there almost everyday for the past 4years..

Got a very good Claypot Chicken Rice in Taman Kinrara, Puchong. They use coal burners not gas, so it taste better & the rice is cooked just right. Should try it.

The other 1 is inside the shopping mall itself, kind of a small stall with the same logo and name as the one outside the mall.


I heard from my friend the one inside the shopping mall is actually a Ex-Worker of the taiwan beef noodle house Outside the mall. The lady owner go open up her own inside the mall after making enuff $$$.

The best tom yam i tried so far is the pandan indah ORKID THAI and well i did try A LOT since thai food is my fav.
Its just straight ahead within 50 meters from dolphin pandan indah (same lorong, opposite row)

I've been in ampang since the day i was born .... and talking about food there are only few ones which are truly delicious ... forget about the franchise restaurants coz they are no better than self microwaved food ... so let me list out some of which are good to my liking

- burger special - burger stall in front of 7-eleven at jalan kolam air lama near spca ampang - called the most sloppiest burger by a magazine but taste really nice - open from 8pm till wee hours in the morning
- the tandoori chicken - small mamak opposite ampang point - open at night
- suzi's corner - located near mamak at the intersection between jalan ampang - MRRII - steaks made by a retired hotel chef - even mat sallehs patron this restaurant - serves dinner onwards
- Foong foong yong tau foo - surely ampang is known for this delicacy - located near spectrum shopping mall at pekan ampang - serves lunch and close on dinner
- Loke yuen chicken rice - one of the best hainanise chicken rice around serves lunch onward closes on dinner
- rojak klasik - a van selling rojak near petronas (with macdonalds attached) near the jalan kolam air lama road - serves lunch onward

their chief and worker from thailand, and their boss is chinese...
must try their fried garlic sotong, thai style steam fish and seafood fried rice....

The Thai place is Nong & Jimmy. It's OK to try if you haven't tried it, but otherwise not really worth it to go out of way to go there.

Taiwanese shop now has a stall at KLCC food court also. Known for their beef noodles but I rarely eat beef.

Does anyone knows where has the original owner of Restoran Top Bah Kut Teh opposite Old Town in Pandan Indah has gone to? A new owner has taken over using the same name but the food and service sucks.

There is a great Yong Tau Foo restaurant located nearby Nine Emperors Temple. It is a total different thing and taste real good. Serves Yong Tau Foo and steam farm chicken. It only operates from 10am-2pm. Usually sold out after lunch. Has no signboard.

This place is a one of my greatest discovery in KL.

Chong Ko Hakka Mee is no.1 on my list. Mee made in heaven.

There is really good "mang" pan mee opposite the basketball court in nine emperors temple.
